No other choice but J in that regard. This is coming from a guy who likes it and has replayed it countless times, but J's piss-easy, and the maps are needlessly way too goddamn big. Also it plays SEED straight which doesn't exactly make for exciting stuff. OG mecha are sexy as hell though, including my all-time favorite.
It's a decent place to start, though. Alpha Gaiden is kind of hard for a newbie, so try that once you've gotten a feel for the gameplay.

Combo attacks are marked by a (c) in the attack name and can hit (usually) adjacent enemies sequentially. iirc, K let you hit up to your Combo skill max within the weapon's range so Strike Freedom can hit multiple non-adjacent units in a cone

just don't put units with strong Combo moves into PUs. it's that simple.

all that being said, K is probably a bad game to start with. I played OG1, OG2, and part of D before getting K and while I liked K a lot, it made it hard to give L (which i bought on release) a fair shot

from the DS games, W is probably the best to start out with because it's so similar to J

I dunno what series other than King Gainer you wanted to see in K and I haven't played the first Z but King Gainer stuck around in the Z2 games for PSP. I don't remember if any of their plot was used, though.
I do know that Z2 is somewhat simplified combared to Z due to not having tri squad system.

That got the Grungust Kai, which mirrored the Huckebein EX in the game they came from.

Meanwhile after that both lines got a minor enhancement, the Grugusts with the Type 2 getting a power up and the Huckebeins with the Exbein Boxer and Gunner making those two parts capable of limited production lines instead of being one-ofs.

Combo in K was beyond broken. As long as the enemies are in range, you can hit them. What broke Dann in the early game is he has a 1-2 Range one of good power that doesn't cost much, and that's basically only the territory of Godannar TDM at that point. And then he gets other awesome shit later.

L nerfed the fuck out of it, you're limited in what you can hit and the damage is shit, but they also redid the partner system so it has actual fucking uses out of EXP Gain like K. UX completely reworked it, and the new system was fine so BX just reused it.

The purple tickets in this event have two uses. They can either be used in exorbitance to get guaranteed SSRs, for which you'll basically need the event SSRs in the first place, or to get copies of the old event units.

If you have the SSRs, get them to level 60+ and spam the first 25 cost stage - I'd back them up with Shooters here, they seem to be more effective in this one. You might make it to the super special prize tickets if you push, and you'll probably get at least one, while also getting a hefty stock of the dark blue tickets. If you don't, just grind the bottom two, they're easier overall.

Assuming you have even a decent stock of AP that's 2940 for each AP Potion, which means you'd need to restore your AP six or so times before you get the first one and then another eight or nine for the second. That's basically nothing, especially since this event's going for another six or so days and of course your AP restores naturally.

That's frankly absurd. You could finish those off in like three days and still have enough time to grab pretty much everything else worthwhile out of the event.

Hey anons, strayed from the /m/anly path around the time Aldnoah Zero came out and just got back on track with X-O. After re rolling for the Gawain I ended up settling for SSR Lancelot Albion, SSR Strike Freedom, SSR God Gundam, and have upgraded a shinkiro to SR++ so far. Is this a fairly good team going in? Any tips that might not be intuitive for one familiar with gacha games?

Appreciate any help you can offer. Oh yeah, is this story worth a shit or is it just a set piece for a mobile game?

The english release was entirely intended for the Southeast Asia market, places like Singapore where English is a common second language so they can avoid having to make seperate translations for each country. An american release was never the point, America is far away and Bamco have a lot leasier time shoving a game out to the aian markets than going throug hthe hassle of distributing a niche strategy title across the whole of the US.

In a world where there are few enough customers that they can be served by import sites and fake PSN accounts, Bamco doesn't have the incentive to negotiate with strong companies like Walmart and Sony America when it can strongarm Singapore distributors and Sony Asia to getting its way.

I was asking who the apparent licensing issues for releasing it in America would be with.
The rest of my post was pointing out that the only company involved with SRWOG in America to date has been Atlus who published and released OG1, OG2, and Endless Frontier.

Atlus also published and distributed another Banpresto IP; Summon Night: Swordcraft Story, Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2, and Summon Night: Twin Age.
Whatever licensing agreement between Banpresto (actually Bandai Namco Games) and Atlus for Summon Night had been resolved by 2015 when Gaijinworks published Summon Night 5.

All this does not support the claim that BNGI chose not to release the localized version of OGMD in America because of licensing issues but due to other circumstances.
