Nah, you spend resources on your form powers. At any point you may do a Finisher, the effectiveness of which is based on how many resources you've spent over the course of the battle. Regaining resources is done via stunting and doing speeches about justice or other themes in line with your Rider. Higher end forms have a similar mechanic to Finishers, requiring a certain amount of spent resources to activate all their abilities. Technically you can turn into them early but be prepared to job like a motherfucker as all the higher abilities are locked out for awhile.

Theoretically this can lead to a hilariously minmaxed secondary Rider build based around never leaving your basic form but burning through all your resources ridiculously fast to get a decent finisher off.

Thinking on it further, most non-Rider enemies would mostly have a single consistent stat block, or maybe two for the fancy ones. Riders tend to start weaker than your average enemy but build into surpassing them. Expenditures might be best tracked across one "episode" so that the Riders don't have to restart from square one if the enemy does knock them out of transformation in the first fight.

Dark Riders are scary because they can do dramatic speeches like you and even learn new forms as you progress yourself.

It's kind of weird that after the "ALL MY POWERS COMBINED" modes of Ghost, Drive, Gaim, Wizard, and Fourze, Hyper Muteki is its own entity that doesn't really tap into the other Gashats unless he has them on hand to put them into his weapon or Finisher slot.

Sounds gay, but the main idea is the joy of living and how fragile life can be. The rider formula imo boils down to someone being put in a shitty situation and that person's unrelenting will winning the day in the end. It's easy to write around. Game's bretty goofy though, just with tense situations. Motifs are cans and streaming services. You manage your forms by using vending machines and the suits are powered by the number of people watching you online.

As far as popularity goes, it'd likely be the first Kamen Rider (Kamen Rider 1) and Kamen Rider Black for the older ones. Kamen Rider Den-O and Kamen Rider W for the newer ones.

As far as enemies go, it's pretty much Shocker from the original series. There are better antagonists in later shows, but Shocker's overall presence is just iconic in Japan.

I'm legitimately asking why these Amazon Prime series can't just make up their own original Rider instead of attaching a decades-old name to them. I get they did Amazons as a joke about them being Amazon but to turn all the other seven Riders into a checklist but have little to nothing in common with them or any kind of relation just seems like they're pushing this to where it doesn't need to go. I mean I dunno about you but Amazons doesn't come off like some kind of loving homage to the original Amazon made by big fans or anything, it's just a name and some similarities slapped on.

It has a better spread of multi-part stories throughout the show, rather than leaving everything for the last third of the series. Civilian scenes are more comedic and Kotaro has actual social life in RX, unlike in Black, but the plot can still get serious when necessary.

However, the main conflict isn't nearly as personal as Black's, and there's a big contradiction between the plot of the first half and second half of the show. Battles are generally better since they don't rely nearly as much on stock footage, although on the other hand, they reuse that one rock quarry even more than Black.

The tie ins with Black and the crossover with the first 10 Riders in the last arc all feel half-baked though. Regarding the Black stuff, spoilers, but just to get them out of the way - When Kotaro is trying to finish a super AI car, he takes it to the cave where Whale saved him in order to give life to it. However, according to Black RX, it's the CAVE that's magical and saved him, and he asks then cave to give life to his car. It's like the writer just read a plot summary.


Shadowmoon returns at a certain point of RX, but then Kotaro talks about how Shadowmoon is heartless and underhanded, like it's apparently a new thing, and Kotaro previously thought of him as an honorable enemy, which just sounds wrong.

Also, none of his Black supporting cast is even mentioned.

It would fit this Prime Showaverse since I'm sure the Amazon scare would put the government in enough of a panic to make their own super soldiers as a response. These soldiers are inspired by and named after gods in order to give confidence to the masses and intimidate threats like Amazons. Apollo Geist is one of the premiere super soldiers. Kamen Rider X can either be the standard "powerful but uncontrollable prototype" to thenexisting auper soldiers or "unfinished next gen soldier".

Prime X's plot can revolve around internal conspiring and corruption among the those working this new military program. G.o.D. does stand for Government of Darkness, after all. For example, Apollo Geist is like the Hesei Tachibana archetype who starts "acting up" during missions.
