A lot of things. TV-N hasn't moved on much from where fansubs were in 2005:

* Honorifics everywhere, when this is now generally crass.
* Bad translations. "Banana new shoe", "even if I'm the devil", etc. They have a terrible QC process that means a ton of errors get left in.
* Hardsubs only when softsubs are standard everywhere else in the fansub community. They often use lower-quality encodes than other groups as well.
* Relatedly, overuse of text-based special effects. The special effects are already on the screen, that's what the show's being watched for. They don't need a bunch of flashy text drawing the eye away.
* They're slow relative to Over-Time or Excite, not even comparing to speedsubs like RTA.

I'm sure others could go on, but they're basically just not very good at anything, made worse because for a long time they were the only source for everything. Until 2010 you watched TV-N or you weren't watching toku at all. It was a very unhealthy scene for toku fansubbing.

Let me add onto that. It isn't that. They have a great QC process. It's whether or not Takenoko thinks you're right is a whole new story. I heard the new translator basically takes any suggestion or changes.

Ex-Aid from TVN is probably their strongest translation yet.

They beat Excite three to four times when releasing Ex-Aid now, it's just nobody cares, but I collect all of the Ex-Aid stuff from everyone. Excite is actually the slowest these days.

Everything else though is correct. Bad encoding, hardsubs, overuse of honorifics, blatant disregard for official spellings in favor of what they think is right, aka ZIMBER arms, or ParaDOX when the show, packaging in toys, and magazines all write it as Para-DX, etc.

This is kind of the long and short of it. TVN's QC "team" is massive, going far beyond excessive compared to other groups. You'd think with so many people poring over the subs they'd be able to catch amateur mistakes, but at the end of the day it's all down to Takenoko's final word. Again, neither English nor Japanese is his first language.

Also consider that a good large number of TNV's QC people are just in it to get subs early and don't actually know the Japanese required to do QC.

I'm kind of a completionist when it comes to seasons, did we ever get a better raw for that Brave vs Ouja special, or subs for the last Genm episode? It bugs me to death when a series has special that I can't complete.

I'm still mad we never got the rest of Drive's Type SCU specials.

It does seem like a problem. Ex-Aid has recovery powerups, but so far that specific one has only been used once so far. Fourze had the Medical Switch, but again that was only used once as a proper mid battle heal, and only in the show for story purposes. Beast had that healing spell with his Dolpi mantle, but again, one and done.

I'd say Drive didn't use Mad Doctor very much because it fucking sucked, so I'm not going to fault Drive on that one.

Multiple units of this hair like variable-length blades are installed on Ex-aid's head. When swing around it can attack the surrounding like a golden tornado.
It also spray out "Spark'in Glitter" which covers Ex-aid's entire body, which gives him a stat boost at a limit time. During the stat boost Ex-aid's body will glow, and his punches and kicks will be 2x more powerful than normal.

Ex-aid's battle shoes.
It comes with blast air injection function, which gives Ex-aid the ability to control his time to stay in air, and landing time. Also gives him infinite jump and do acrobatic moves.
Just like the gloves it has auto hit, and auto target ability where Ex-aid can execute kicks with multiple hits.

i think it does contradict it with edith because every time a makoto clone came back, it got stronger, AND it was learning to the point where it became the real Makoto.

that's why makoto keeps getting a heart attack everytime he killed them because they were implying he was killing himself.

Without online guides, it's really hard to judge the difficulty of PvE games. Even if the level is labeled as hard, you'll have a fair amount of people going in blind because they underestimate the game.

Those who do experience the difficulty wouldn't make it back to spread the word. Those who survived will further spread the misconception that Cronus is beatable just because they saw Emu do it.

Less than a dozen ride players showed up for the Cronus challenge anyway. Masamune's game plan is probably to kill those few people who actually show up, then their friends and family will now have an incentive to play.

So Build's belt is a fishing rod? Is the gimmick going to be lures?
