I thought Faiz in general was just a lot more interesting than Ghost in concept honestly. The orphenochs being some nutty but flawed evolution of the human race, the main rider being a kaijin who is at conflict with his own race, and so on.

Best things about it's story were Takumi & Kiba but even with them you've gotta look at them in a vacuum or acknowledge a lot of shit. Also Crab Orphnoch was a cool guy (his VA was Ren from Ryuki too even).

All that being said, I'd always recommend Faiz to people just so that they can appreciate Paradise Lost better, which is a top tier KR movie.

I wasn't thoughtless enough to believe that Taiga would be dying this episode but still pretty sure it would happen before too long. After this episode I'm not sure about that at all though.
I figured his arc would end with him sacrificing himself to atone for his past failure. With Nico being someone he wants to protect enough that he would be willing to sacrifice himself and be satisfied with that end.
A number of threads back I saw an anon bring up that his arc should be about him finding something he cares about that's worth living for, losing his deathwish like 'only he should be a rider' attitude. What we saw between him and Nico this episodes is angled towards that idea really strongly, to the point that either of them dying would completely undermine this development.
I feel now that if anyone's going to die Poppy's the only real option and even then that would be her going out towards the finale.

Ex-Aid and Gaim both reuse the premise of Ryuki but in different ways. Gaim is more similar to Ryuki (intentionally, as Urobuchi's entire resume is inspired by the show), whereas Ex-Aid is a very immediately different take on the concept.

I don't think Ex-Aid is really doing Tatakae in the same way as Ryuki or Gaim. It's a series with a ton of riders but nothing about it is really leaning to the battle royal style those two have, it's very clear that there is a good guys bad guys divide. I think it's that blending of Tatakae and traditional elements resulting in a a war between two groups that is making Ex-Aid more unique and really appealing.

I wanted to watch Blade for a long time, but TVN's subs turned me off. Started watching with Turn Up Scrubs, and something about the dialogue and pacing feels very Tominoish to me.

Also, fuck this show is bright. That's my biggest annoyance right now

If it doesn't flub the ending you could argue that it's better than Gaim. Gaim's middle act was fantastic though, and while Ex-Aid has been good I don't feel that it's hit that level yet.

The cast in Ryuki was just a lot more likeable than both Gaim's and Ex-Aid's in my opinion.

The series really needed more moments like the last 10 episodes, where there were multiple Riders besides the core ones running around.
