Season 3 was where the show really hit its stride, only really dipping during Alien Rangers but managing to keep up the stride throughout Zeo.

I can't stand how "fast" everything goes in PR, like the editor and director had no idea what they were doing.

Its gotten better in its pacing as its gone on, but holy fuck those first two seasons were ridiculously bad. I guess thats the issue with relying on stock footage that doesn't fit with your original scenes.

Interesting when you think about it. They couldn't just have them become the Kakurangers, because that blows the whole load of getting new powers for a full season.

They could have just continued as normal until they got Zeo, but then they wouldn't be able to save money on fights with Kakuranger footage.

So they had to get a new cast in there to be the Kakurangers, and get the old cast out of the way for the time being, so they could save money not having two adult casts.

So then... why aliens? Who knows. I suppose they could be a band of ninja Rangers under Ninjor's wing. I think they made them aliens so they weren't just around the whole time and also to explain why they couldn't be there full time.

Interesting to note that hiring six new child actors, five new adult actors, all to use Kakuranger footage was probably cheaper than just using the main cast and their own original fights until Zeo...
