Toei is notorious for not taking care of old suits. Gills was water damaged beyond repair, Zolda is faded, Blade's face is now about as yellow as Jack Form's, and Cyclone Joker is tearing apart at the joints now.

Plus, when they don't want to spend the money to repair or remake a suit, they just go and get a visibly far lower quality stageshow suit (see: Black and RX).

Then related to Jack Matter and how the topic of the Warring States period came up last thread, I finished Gokaiger yesterday and at the end there was a bit saying that after the death of the Emperor, the Zangyack had split into different factions fighting with each other. Could JM possibly have been one of these factions, and united the split Zangyack territory under their bakufu, like what essentially happened in the Sengoku period? It'd be a neat way of connecting some of the ""canon"", I think.

Sentai "canon" only connects when they want to do anniversary stuff or have old Sentai members show up in a show for whatever reason. Every show is self-contained, in that the damage done to the city and the galactic politics have no bearing on the next show. Earth should have been more aware of space politics in Zyuohger with the whole Zangyack thing in Gokaiger, yet here comes another group of space people that earth has no defense for outside of two humans and seven furries from an alternate world. The chunk of the moon that Yamato obliterated in the 3000th episode more than likely will be magically fixed in Kyuuranger and never mentioned.
