You're looking at it the wrong way around. People go there to look at and maybe pick up some comics, it's just that the comics can't keep the shop afloat alone and nowadays they aren't supposed to. The comics are the lure. People come in for that new issue of this or that, but then they decide to pick up a pack of trading cards while they're there, or maybe they see that you got in a new collectors figure of that guy you like, or that you have in the volume collection of that series you're reading.

The comics just get them into the shop.

But I can only recommend Gargantia on the Verdurous, cause it is the only one I know that does it.

It is, yeah. Four manga chapters in and it's a cliche snoozefest, even with great mecha designs.

The most interesting thing that happened thus far is the MC being used as homobait for a chiseled ikemen fuccboi as a quick one-off gag. Not because it was titillating, but honestly because it was legitimately the only thing that wasn't both cliche and ultimately fairly boring.
