Gokaiger's success came from the ranger keyes being a fun collectable gimmick for fans. It wasn't that strong rating-wise and the other toys weren't really selling that well. The keys sold so well they're still making them for new teams and characters.

Shinkenger was an overall fluke. It was because it had Hiroki Aiba's built in fanbase, incredibly pretty boys, and a whole lot of harem elements that balanced it in a way that teenage girls gravitated to it. It's why Tori became a sex symbol in Japan right after.

Because it was just so boring despite a good chunk of them acting like they injected pure sugar into their bloodstream. Takaharu never actually became fun to watch and just got slightly better at acting as the series went on, Fuuka got some okay scenes but nothing special, I completely forgot Yellow's name that's how little he mattered at all, Yakumo and his E G DANA was okay the whole way through but didn't really impress as a character, and Kasumi was probably one of the most developed of the bunch and was somewhat enjoyable to watch but came off as very bossy.

Kinji was arguably the best Ranger in terms of being both fun to watch and how his fights were, with grandpa and dad being equal in how fun they were to watch.

The story just went at a glacial pace, you had things like Kinji's inner werewolf taking forever to actually appear only for it to just suddenly come up out of nowhere and then the power up is used a handful of times and mostly by Takaharu anyway, and you had the entire Kibaoni thing also taking forever to rear any sort of head at all with Kyuemon basically just messing around the whole series.

Fights in-suit weren't really that exciting to watch and felt more by-the-books than anything else outside of the brief times we got the mech fights where you had Takaharu and Kinji's smaller mechs fighting, and the returning Sentai actors were more enjoyable for their extremely brief cameos than the actual team they were mentoring. Hell, this webm is basically the most enjoyable moment of the entire show barring grandpa and dad's transformation, and it happens pretty much at the start of the show.
