Stock footage is basically synonymous with the show, and it's absurdly bad about it. The first arc plot was interesting but has been done better in years since and tends to drag, and the first arc definitely drags. I'm still on the second, and it looks like it's clearing up, but who knows, given the state of things it might last five more episodes. And unlike Dougram (which it snubbed for Best Anime Of The Year) it's not interesting enough to make up for that.

That said, it's not bad. SRW does somewhat exaggerate "God Mars never moves", it has at least a few more attacks (still way fewer than any main robot without side robots should have), and there's some cool shit SRW hasn't touched, like the space pirate galleon. But overall, I've seen much better.

Hey guys. While playing SRW Original Gen GBA, I've noticed an infinite game over loop during Scenario 26 due to the fact that I didn't upgrade the kawaii anime girl ship. So after turn 2, she gets surrounded by enemy reinforcements and during that turn dies. There are no upgrade prompt's prior to starting the mission as well. So I was forced to load up my last save which was like 5 missions ago. Not fun.
