Imagine if Doozybots did come out in the US, and the internet was full of people claiming it was a massive improvement on the original, and that we should be grateful because without the US version we wouldn't even know about an obscure chinese cartoon like Gundam.
If Doozybots was successful every Gundam iteration that would come into the west after it would be renamed.
Imagine "Zeta Doozy, Double Doozy, G Doozy, Doozy Wing, Doozy Seed Destiny, Turn A Doozy, Victory Doozy, Unicorn Doozy, and Doozy Reconguista in D"
I don't want to live in that world, for bad whoever lives in that parallel universe.
I sometimes wonder what it's like in the alternate universe where Gundam became Robotech and it's licensing rights were in the shitter while Macross Plus aired on Toonami and became massively popular
>Doozy Seed Destiny
>Turn A Doozy
>Doozy Reconguista in D
>where Gundam became Robotech and it's licensing rights were in the shitter
That doesn't make any sense if you actually stop and think as to why Macross's rights are in the shitter. There isn't any confusion as to whether Tatsunoko or Big West hold the rights, with Gundam it's just Sunrise. Hell, if Macek had decided to bring over Gundam instead of Macross back in the day there would have been no need to Frankenstein it since MSG plus the at the time recent Zeta covers more than the syndication required 65 episodes and there would have been no need to do Sentinels/Shadow Chronicles tomfoolery since there would have been a steady stream of Gundam to bring over.
The alternate universe you are describing is a perfect one in which all of both Gundam and Macross would have been brought over, Wingfags don't exist, and /m/ is slightly more shitpost-free.
We would have grown up with awesome SD Gundam toys in the late 80's alongside so many other classics. It would have been great.
I hope one day the pilot episode of Doozey Bots gets released. It looked hilarious.
"Uh oh! Now I'm permanatly grounded!"
Me and my friends were actually talking about how
a kid friendly version of Berserk or Fist of the North Star like this would go before I saw this thread too.

she was a woman that could've been like a good friend to me.
At least Doozybots had original animation. Like, the plan was to just take the already-existing japanese SD Gundam merchandise and repackage it to sell in the states, which is hardly a terrible strategy to sell toys, since it means you don't have to pay for the development of the toys, just the advertising cartoon.
>Made non-canon by making it canon
Nice going Dooz_Knight
I never watch US versions of anime.
Pirating anime on the Internet has been viable for around 15 years now.
Frankly I don't even follow the US anime industry, I don't need them.
