New key visual
It's a really tough call, isn't it? Both aren't guaranteed to win, yet seem likely.
Just eliminate the middleman and turn the entire sky into a girl already, Kawamori, that's what some people are expecting.
>8 years later and there are people who are still butthurt
I mean Alto and Sheryl literally had staff-confirmed sex in the series
Neither (younger) singers nor Zentrants have won in a series before. As you can see Kawamori is already breaking all the rules
Does this mean the male MC can not be the bowl or the winner?
which fuccboi will it be?
Red is obviously the best boy but I'm sure our favorite boy will be Master Herman as he is old and has a badass scar(?) and high on the list of "probably gonna die"
>Old man in a pretty boy squadron
That's like, the biggest death flag there is.
Maybe some doujins that feature these fellas will actually get scanned and/or translated though.
There's a whole host of Alto and/or Brera doujins that remain unscanned.
That necklace Hayate has on, I wonder if whats on it is a fold crystal that came from the Vajra? If so, I wonder if Hayate does get to pilot will his crystal react and a Vajra comes to his rescue and be some some new type that would combine with his Valkyrie like armor parts?
Feels like I was the only person who noticed Hayate was wearing what clearly looked like a Fold crystal. I think that's kinda super big
>a Vajra comes to his rescue and be some some new type that would combine with his Valkyrie like armor parts?
That would be cool.
Could be the Vajra Queen's way of providing assistance without sending an entire fleet in, just send one special type that can combine with a VF like how they combined Battle Frontier with the Vajra Queen.
>in the series, it ends with Alto flying off into the skythen in a movie alto leaves with the vajra queen
In both versions Alto has decided and it's not Ranka. The triangle is closed so to speak, there is no ambiguity at all. His going away (flying) or teleported by the Vajra queen is only a little detail that does not modify in any way Sheryl's love for him, and his love for her. Ranka is out.
>Unlimited micromissile spam
If it's really to fulfill the predictions of >>13840446 they could have it be the mid-season upgrade of this particular V(F)ajra. After the midseason fight where it sees the resident Macross-type vessel recombine mid-fight because reasons, it is heavily injured and retrieved by its Queen unit and upgraded accordingly by its wishes after seeing said Macross in action. When it returns it can combine with a VF or function solo and hollow.
Macrosshipfags win, Vajrafags win, VFfags win, everyone wins.
Except for green, maybe.
>I didn't find it catchy at all, I'm pretty disappointed by the music from the first episode.
We need some real j-rock in this series. Basara help us out to kill j-pop songs.
Heart and Soul guys, Heart and Soul.
The Vajra Aggressor variant is merely a VF-25 that was modified to look like a Vajra for training purposes.
A hypothetical Vajra/VF combination would probably look somewhat like the YF/VF-29 considering that the 29 actually kind of resembles a Vajra in battroid especially with the turret on the back and the wings on the back.
Also, not just unlimited micro-missiles, but also infinite machine gun fire
>2 x bio-machine guns firing biological tissue projectiles (mounted one per front limb); Macross Chronicle 2E Frontier Mechanic Sheet ETC 04A describes these weapons as "biological rapid-fire pulse beam guns"
>Yes, let's replace one kind of trash with another.
One man's trash is another man's treasure lol.
Since Macross 7 music has become less and less epic. As good as the music is in Frontier, in my view it still ranks lower than the songs of Fire Bomber. And I don't think it'll get any better with Delta going from what we have hear. Giri giri ai. Giri giri ai.
one of these on each wing to match the Draken/Ghosts.
And this for the Koenig Monster they probably have?
Well, the Vajra can down a ship with a single shot.
But that mockup doesn't. They were just training pilots to deal with the Vajra's movement patterns with those until they realised that the Vajra changes their tactics and shit so they stopped the program.
>Bullshit excuse people use to try and cover for their bad tastes when they just won't admit it.
Nope. That pretty much sums up about you and your shit tastes. Stay delusional faggot.
I'm pretty sure Kawamori has never killed a girl in the main triangle before. The closest was Sara but I don't think she died. Actually I don't think he's killed girls in general often unless they were fodder background characters
Ikenai Borderline it's only "good" imho,
Back when I first listen to Iteza in MF (watched it in 2009) made me search more about who was the singer and composer (love May'n and Yoko Kano)
I expect garbage, because that's what the first episode was. I mean, it might be good production-wise and all, but overall it seems too cliche and idol stuff looks too silly this time.
It would be a complete rehash of that triangle.
This one seems typical but when I watched the first episde it surprised me how Freyja was far more determined than Hayate. You can say the same for Mirage, who seems to take her job quite seriously. They both seem like good foils to him.
I still don't rule out them throwing Keith into the mix and turning the love triangle into some sort of love square.
All of them scream fujobait, but the twins especially so.
>purple one is younger and more agressive
>I mean, it might be good production-wise and all
>I like the same squadron of VF-1s getting blown up over and over
>I like the same squadron of VF-11s getting blown up over and over
Frontier was guilty of reusing footage but not nearly as much as SDF and 7. And that's not even going into hyperbole land like you are by saying all the fights in those series looked like garbage, because not all of them did.
I remember seeing that Kawamori stated he wants to subvert the typical macross tropes with this series so from that our chance are
>triangle breaks apart and everyone goes their seperate ways
>The upcoming Idol wins
>MC dies/fucks off Mirage ends up with the Idol girl
As for the story regarding the conflict,we could see a genocide end for once seeing as how VFs have advanced ridiculously since frontier
>As for the story regarding the conflict,we could see a genocide end for once seeing as how VFs have advanced ridiculously since frontier
I don't think the new VFs are that much more impressive. Maybe the Draken's ghost boosters are pretty strong but the Siegfried doesn't seem too special.
Then it looks like either MC death,Idol or Yuri.
Sadly (in my opinion at least) I see Yuri end as the most viable because the Idol genre of our current time already tends to go there
It's up to the player. You can either choose the meltran girl or the protoculture girl.
Big West is confident as fuck this will be a hit.
They know it will sell like hot cakes.
Are you actually this new or stupid?
>So she'd have a Vajra tail and hair that can harden and turn into a small head-mounted organic beam cannon?
And can also survive in space without a spacesuit and do a fold on her own?
Rather than a hybrid, I can see the Vajra Queen making special human-sized humanoid Vajra based on human physiology for interacting with humans, we even have a semi-sensible reason for them to be female human/Vajra, because the only humans that can reliably talk with the Queen and provide the information for the Queen to grow a new Vajra based on humans would be Ranka and Sheryl, both females.
>Guys bringing the Vajra-Human(With the Queen communicating through it, of course) around on a tour in their ship
>"And this is our airlock for spacewalks."
>"What's this button for?"
>Airlock door shuts
>Guys panicking outside the airlock while its inside
>Depressurising complete, external hatch opens
>It flies out
>Then a single Vajra flies by the hatch, peeks in, looks around
>It then returns with the Vajra-Human on its back
>Rather than a hybrid, I can see the Vajra Queen making special human-sized humanoid Vajra based on human physiology for interacting with humans
You mean like the Inbit eventually did in MOSPEADA?
The VF-31 isn't really more advanced than the YF-29 or YF-30. It's the logical evolution of their swiveling back weapon but the YF-29 likely has the highest specs of any valkyrie in-universe and will continue to hold that title until the inevitable YF-3X in the Delta movie and/or game.
I'll believe it when I see it. For now, the YF-30 is specifically designed to pierce dense fold faults and I don't doubt the YF-29 can do the same with a strong enough fold aura being produced by whoever.
I'm reasonably sure that's a Guantanamo-class escort carrier, NUNS standard capital ship for their Macross fleets. These are not some flimsy 3rd-party transport boats but genuine military hardware - albeit hardware that's getting long in the engine trail by Delta's time. Guantanamos were around since 7.
That said, the scene does actually make sense, since we only ever see the Draken start its attack; it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to expect it to fire that gunpod as well. Knowing General Galaxy, that gunpod is probably the same type of multi-mode heavy-beam-capable gunpod as the Lucifer's, of which gutting ships in one hit would be well within capability. Pitting the Draken III against the Guantanamo is like attacking a WWII escort carrier with an F/A-18E/F.
Hey, at least it wasn't a fleet carrier getting shot to bits.
>that gunpod is probably the same type of multi-mode heavy-beam-capable gunpod as the Lucifer's, of which gutting ships in one hit would be well within capability.
And even if it wasn't, shooting the hangar, which most probably has storage for missiles and weapons there will blow the ship into bits.
Ammunition detonation is serious shit.
>VF-171s and decades old ship design
Way too expensive. Then again, they stripped down the VF-17 into the pathetic abomination that is the VF-171, do you really want to see a stripped down, undertuned VF-2200 or something equally sad?
M7 fleet canonically stuck with VF-19s and were developing their own next gen based off of it instead of the YF-24, so yeah, they still are better than the bucket of shit that is the VF-171
Mirage is fucking stacked, there's no way they wouldn't show off her assets. Just waiting for the inevitable two page magazine spread of all the girls in swimsuits. Mirage and Mikumo will be glorious.
Plus was in 2040, so that makes it 23 years. Not that that matters. In Macross two decades might as well be twenty in terms of tech growth.
Hell, the SV-262 killed a VF-171 in literally like two missiles.
Honestly, while they might not have followed the YF-24's exact blueprint, there's no way they didn't adopt the ISC as part of their next generation fighter. It's just too game changing of a technology.
I'd expect to see a VF-19EX tech demonstrator first to show that they can indeed outfit a VF-19 to be EX Gear compatible before moving on to a more complex prototype. A temporary YF-20 perhaps before receiving a production designation in the VF-30s somewhere.
The stock VF-171 isn't as fast as the YF-19. The upgraded VF-171EX is, but only because the engines are literally straight copies of the VF-19's to force better speed and maneuverability out of it in anti-Vajra operations.
Even then I'd say the only thing that would make the VF -171EX comparable to the VF-19 is the addition of EX Gear, which makes the maneuverability of the stronger engines much easier to control for unskilled pilots.
But yeah, the base VF-171 is -to put it nicely- not so great.
The number of years don't really matter since the VF-22's design was ahead of its time and only a handful were ever produced. Even in Delta its superior to the VF-171 in every way.
>Looks more girlier than Alto
>girlier than Alto
Alto looked girly, that was about it. His personality was anything but, which is apparent to anyone who even watched the serious, yet this meme persists. Why? Hell, he had a perpetual scowl/frown on his face the entire series and most of his responses to events consisted of either seething anger or unrestrained violence.
What's the big fascination with him looking girly?
That's true though. The girls are watching mecha and the guys are watching little girls. Considering its keeping mecha alive, I think it's easy to say that Japanese girls have better taste than Japanese guys, fujobait or not.
Yes because that's probably Ragna
During a fan event they revealed the story will take place across the galaxy so expect a lot of planet jumping.
There is no girlier man than WAGA NA WA GEPERUNITCH
Though that one Protodeviln who wouldn't stop talking about beauty was close too
Shit I didn't even noticed until you pointed it out. I have no idea what's going on there.
Here's the first revealed model of the VF-31.
Flimsy is when you doubt its structural integrity, not an indication of its service life. The VF-171 and the Guantanamo may be outdated as all heck, but if they're flimsy, then pretty much every VF and ship in the NUNS is flimsy since they are all built the same way.
That's like saying a Nimitz-class carrier is ramshackle because it's been in service for 40 years now.
>caring about the new macross series
VF-0 and VF-19 come to mind. VF-0A/S had variable wings and the D model had delta wings. The VF-19F/S models had slightly different forward swept wing designs compared to the YF-19 and VF-19A/Kai model.
>tfw the poster count hasn't changed so it's just one sad faggot trying to derail the thread over and over again
In Macross it practically IS flimsy just for being that old. The SV-262 blew it up in literally like two missiles. They survived even a little better than that against the Vajra even. If that's not flimsy I don't fucking know what is.
And if you don't think that each successive valk can't fly circles around the last ones, you're delusion.
You weren't paying attention to the post count apparently because that was my one and only post in the thread. Enjoy the epic hype train for your shit anime and ruined franchise kek
The poster count went from 78 to 79 unique posters between here >>13847422 and here >>13847752
We haven't forgotten pic related Macrossrager
It was announced bandai is making a transformable 1/72 VF-31. Releases in June for 5200 yen.
Yes, tell me more how that will hold up to modern gunpods and missiles please.
And yet Frontier had to upgrade the VF-171 to EX status to even give them a chance to fight the Vajra. What the fuck would a VF-1 do with even smaller caliber fire, vastly weaker engines, and no PPB? There's a reason even Max and Miriya upgraded to VF-22s, idiots.
Yeah like their previous 1/72 VF-1 and VF-25 model kits.
>I never said the VF-1 would do well against modern enemies. I'm saying Miria's VF-1 still did well in Macross 7 despite fighting enemies with advanced VFs.
Oh. Well, sorry. Didn't mean to put words in your mouth.
>VF-1X (294.3 kN x 2 overboost)
>VF-171 Nightmare Plus 2 x 445.9 kN (maximum thrust in space)
A regular VF-171 has twice the thrust of the VF-1X and the VF-171 is the cannon fodder laughing stock of the Macross universe right now. Throw in EX gear with the VF-171EX and it just becomes even more unfair.
>Mirage in a VF-31C
God damn it...she lost the bowl.
If you recheck the scene you can see he's actually shooting his micro missiles into the hangar, not the beam gun. Better chance for blast frag to hit something vulnerable and explosive off to the side.
I wish she'd do covers of her songs.
MP VF-19s don't look a whole lot like the VF-19A, E or YF-19.
The VF-0D looks different compared to the rest of them too.
I like how the VF-31A looks more like the YF-30, what with the delta wings instead of the forward-swept ones. Neat touch. I wonder what the default weapon container setting is?
>MP VF-19s don't look a whole lot like the VF-19A, E or YF-19.
Those were modified from the prototype's design to be more controllable for the average pilot.
>The VF-0D looks different compared to the rest of them too.
The 0D is a trainer VF.
>Hell, the SV-262 killed a VF-171 in literally like two missiles.
To be fair, what doesn't blow up that easily in Macross when you're a mook? Redshirts in Macross are even worse than redshirts in Gundam. Fucking carriers and battleships blow up with ease.
This is so bought. Even with all it's problems and Version Ka-level of stickers, I love the 25 kit.
This looks better than the CG model, the arms look a little fatter.
Do you think they're being subtle about this or something?
I mean besides the OP image, they have the top cast listing in the credits
well couldnt finishes watched the ep1 in jewtube.
dropped it when the jets start dancing to in front of burning city
I know a guy who hasn't watched it. He always talks about how old anime, especially mecha, are great, despite only watching maybe a dozen anime from before 2000 that aren't Gundam or Macross.
He hasn't watched Delta yet, but read comments on sites like MAL and laughing about how people are reacting to it the same way as they did Frontier. He hates idolshit with a passion (gives Macross a pass because it's a) old and b) mecha). I can't wait for him to watch Delta, after is starts airing, because he's either going to force himself to like it because it's Macross, or absolutely hate it because it's the culmination of everything he hates.
>A specification piloted by anyone but mooks
Delta wings are for the crap pilots while the more maneuverable forward swept wings are for the better ones.
Though to be be fair, Chuck's VF-31E should have delta wings. Not because it's he's terrible but because it's a Recon variant and doesn't need to be as fast or maneuverable.
Damn it, I keep thinking of Macross 30's date
The LMC is too far away and the wrong shape to match the diagram they showed us in the preview episode.
>VF-11A: First mass production type (produced in small numbers). Two windows on main sensor mounted on head turret.
>VF-11B: Mass production type. Anti-aircraft laser gun barrel Lengthened, one window on main sensor, and increased engine thrust. Most produced type of VF-11.
>VF-11C: Enhanced navigational electronic equipment (avionics) type. Focus shifted away from close-combat to better cost-performance balance.
>VF-11D: Two-seater version.
That's for the VF-11C.
>VF-25C: Standard Model
>The VF-25C specification corresponds to the A model, and was set up for delivery to the Unified Forces. They were initially shipped as Block 4 production aircraft. At present, it is the base of every derivative aircraft, such as the export model. The point that's the greatest difference with the A model is the installation of the Link 12 system used for data links. Otherwise, they are almost equal in their specifications. The only way to externally distinguish the C model from the A model is with the 2 data link antennae on the head.
That's for the VF-25A compared to the VF-25C
>I wonder what the default weapon container setting is
It's always gotta be gunpod + something else. I'm wondering if they can't fit a mini-micro missile launcher instead of the drone recharger in the left side.
The YF-30-style missile launcher leaves it without a primary beam gunpod (with unlimited ammo) but it does have those mini-shell firing ones on the arms.
They were confirmed to be shell firing a while back. I assume they have the hip beamguns the others do as well. But the only reason they even have the handguns is so that the weapon container can hold the beam gunpod. It looks like they can fire it from between the engines like normal, but so far we've only seen them use the handguns for some reason.
Now to cross our fingers that the space rats don't show up.
