Why is the second half of ZZ so based? How does a theme song

Contrast. The tone of the series emphasizes Judau's mindset. The first half is goofy and childish, like Judau was at the time. As he starts to mature through his trials and tribulations, the show also becomes more mature as he throws off his childish ways.

I didn't mind the mobile suits stuff at Tigerbaum.
The rich guy collects things, they just happen to be seven year old giant robots that really ought to belong in a museum.

Honestly I liked it better when it was the misadventures of Marshmallow-sama, I still liked the latter half but it wasn't the same.

I hated the desert arc more than even Moon Moon. It was only then when the supporting cast was dumped that I realized how truly insufferable the main cast was since there was nothing else to divert attention from them.
