I actually don't recall any MS in the franchise having a weapon that is so purpose-driven, especially on the MC suit. It would take some deliberate plot to show us how having a jawsaw can be used strategically.

Problem is, with this weapon you have to grab a limb of the enemy and stay still until the saw finishes its job. It's not like the mace, that can be easily swang left and right, and the piledriver shoots and retracts very fast.

I think after fighting lafter and galeo with their agile hit and run mechs, he just asked for something that will hold them in place while he rips their shit out.
