A sniper would want high precision targeting hardware and maybe some sort of camouflage. A lot of specialist junk installed into the machine itself.

The DM just needs a weapon that was tuned to higher standards of accuracy, and could be any run of the mill mech with an arbitrary amount of tuning put into it to help it get a bead on targets in the thick of battle. Mostly though, it's all about the accurized rifle.

Same idea. The way it works isn't all direct control. It's like psycommu in a way, it refines the movements and allows more precise control, but there is still a manual portion to it. Plus it feeds information back to the pilot as well.
