Hey /m/, I have a question. How important is ZZ Gundam to Unicorn's story? Will I miss out on much if I just skip over it to Char's Counterattack?
You can skip it and just read the wiki page if you want, but watch ZZ does make for a more complete experience.
CCA doesn't rely too heavily on ZZ outside of a few questions that if you don't ask them, won't matter. Like 'why's axis here?' and 'where's Haman?' You should be fine with a simple wiki page skim.
There are a bunch of references to ZZ in Unicorn though. It's nothing too serious as none of the principle characters carry over outside of Bright. ZZ does give more weight to a major character's back story though, but again, it's nothing that will ruin Unicorn for you. Episode 4 will ruin Unicorn for you far more than not watching ZZ.
MARIDA IS A PURU
PURU ARE NEWTYPE CLONES BY A GLEMY TOTO
GLEMY TOTO IS A DOUCHE, NOBODY LIKES HIM
GLEMY TOTO TRIED TO USURP HAMAN
ALL PURU DIED EXCEPT FOR MARIDA
That is all you need to know.
This joke-manga is more important to Unicorn's plot.
Unicorn makes much more sense once you've read Gigantis' Counterattack.
You won't miss out on much, but you should watch it any way for best character.
There's also no prize for pointing that out and acting like someone isn't free to simply not enjoy or want to watch a thing. He may have tried several episodes of ZZ and just found it's not his thing. We don't know.
So is that actually what you think is happening when he's asking if it's important for Unicorn's story?
You know, sometimes I feel sorry for ZZ. Every other day we have a "Can I just skip ZZ?" thread.
I don't feel strongly about it one way or the other, but I don't think it wasn't that bad. Just more lighthearted than the other UC entries.
Yea, I feel ya. I've talked to a lot of people that just see it as another 50 episodes of 80's animation before they can get to the pretty HD Unicorn stuff, or they don't want to wait 50 episodes to see more Amuro and Char. Kinda sad really.
The second half of ZZ is actually good as well. It is allot like Zeta with a weaker/less interesting cast, and less sense of urgency and danger. Lots of neat Neo-Zeon MS and battles, a pretty good Gundam plot, etc it is definitely worth watching,
How many times do we go over this?
Watch something because you like it, not because you like something else.
I think it's unlikely, but not impossible and that it's really not my place to presume. If he wants to skip an entry he doesn't think he'll like or hasn't liked after trying it, more power to him. It's doing no harm to me, you, him or anyone else. Acting snotty about it certainly isn't going to change his mind either.
I don't even understand if you're posting if you're just like 'hey man take it easy let him do what he wants maaaaan', taking a completely pointless position of neutrality.
Thus, using logic, you should allow me to do what I want because nothing you say is going to change my mind about saying whatever I want
Of course I'll allow you to do what you want. It's not like I can actually stop you. The most I can do is point out that it's an exercise in futility. If you want to do it despite that, away you go I guess.
Let's go for a high score then I guess.
Chill was a better Puru than Puru on every level that matters. Funnier, cooler, more useful, characters in show actually gave a shit about her and she had a better desig. And she did it all 3 years before hand to boot. Xabungle as a better mix of comedy and seriousness than ZZ too. Tomino brought his A-game to Xanbungle and it showed. ZZ was just his run off while he concentrated on Char's Counterattack.
The only level that matters is being cute you tissue dodger. This is a legitimate post, not a shitpost. You should have displayed these opinions earlier instead of just gong well it's not our place to input on anything when the OP asked for input
Chill is cuter too. In fact, her entire design is obviously meant to make her look cute given the round shaped head and tininess of her design. Seeing her running around with a machine gun like this is cute as hell, especially when she starts firing.
Also, I like how you think >>13776928 isn't an opinion. If any input is okay, then my input that your input is a waste of time is as valid as your input that OP is watching things wrong.
Shaking my head family to be honest, gnomes are not cute
>>13776928 is not an opinion, it's like saying 2+2 is fish. I think ultimately that your input that my input on your input on my input being useless becuase it won't convince anybody is the most waste of time because it's not an input on whether or not to watch ZZ and instead is only an input on to not make assumptions and to not criticize what the OP wants to do, when my input was actually an input to make OP reconsider his reasoning for wanting to skip ZZ if he is talking about relevance to Unicorn, which is actually a valid input because he is proposing input to be given to him on whether or not to skip ZZ so clearly he is also open to input inputting where other posters input on his reasoning
>There's no prize for watching anything.
Not true. If you watch enough you apparently get to be called an anime historian.
But in all seriousness if anyone in the west deserves that title it's Fred Patten
I have now finished it, and I'd say don't skip it. It's difficult to get through up until around the 20 episodes in, then it really picks up -- but those first twenty episodes are REALLY difficult to get through. Then the series really improves.
Definitely worth it.
>cucked his corpse
Unless you're part of one of those heavy-duty religious sects where the woman is expected to just shut down her parts after her husband dies, I don't think that's a thing.
Once he's dead, he's out of the game. It's not cucking, it's just elimination.
But then, half the people who use the word don't really seem to understand how cuckolding works in the first place, so...
Well, that too. For as much as it gets joked about, any relationship between those two only existed in Glemmy's head anyway.
Again, the people who roll out the word don't really seem to get what it actually means. Not that that's anything new.
That seems like a pretty daft move considering that Zeta is written to be incomplete so that you'll watch Zeta part 2, which is pretty much what ZZ is once Bright stops chasing chickens.
And also, ZZ is fun. You don't hate fun, do you?
Watch it. It's much better than Zeta
No it doesn't, only seems so in hindsight. You go into ZZ with no idea about char and you don't get any answers about it until char's counterattack. The title alone promises char's presence.
Look duder, if you want to experience the Universal Century the way the creator intended you'd be better off skipping Unicorn, but if you don't wanna do that, then that's fine too.
However, you do NOT skip ZZ. I'm not even a rabid fanboy/defender of ZZ, it's definitely the weaker of the first three Gundam TV shows, but it's still super solid. Even if you don't like the goofy first part, you will probably like the last part a lot more.
Don't skip it.
I agree, there's this weird negative energy floating around ZZ that causes people who definitely don't know shit about it to dislike it.
>posting some literally who zeek from the oyw instead of based Quattro
Is the little sister kidnapped literally the whole show until the end?
I mean I like the motivation of protecting or wanting to rescue family and all but that seems really stupid if she's kidnapped the whole show
and it'd bother me to have that plotline hanging in the air the whole time
