Nah. Mika and/or Norba's Brother still has to be revealed. Then they'll stand around faffing about for another episode or two before having all their problems solved for them, and then they'll get to somewhere relatively near Earth so they can do all of that again.

They'll have to make a layover at the ISS so that McGillis can reveal he's Kudelia's long lost brother, necessitating a two episode arc where everyone sits down and discusses it over tea and cakes. After that they'll be denied landing permission on Earth by what turns out to be Mika's long lost brother and have to enter a holding pattern for two episodes while he attempts to get permission for them to dock somewhere - only to die tragically when the nub on the pencil he's using to sign the document breaks and shoots through his eye and in to his brain.

In a very simple way it makes stuff seem like it is happening even if it is badly set up and the resolution (if there really is one) is dumb and/or leads to little real development. It's only at the end that people look back and go oh wait that was stupid, you can see it happen on sites like MAL as well. A/Z S2 goes from mostly 5/5 on episode 11 to mostly 1/5 on 12. They realise that none of that shit really meant anything and you get a badly tied together ending

Also it really isn't that popular, certain sites are mostly positive but the actual poster numbers are small

actually I'm looking at the press release for the initial announcement and I think there's a case of misunderstanding what a synopsis is on the part of Sunrise. What they actually did was summarize the first 2 episodes of the show, not provide a framework for what the show will be about.

McGillis wearing a mask isn't supposed to have a name because he didn't invent an entire persona for the masked character, nor is he reverting to a real one while wearing it - it's just a mask he has on for an episode or two while he's doing something he can't be publicly seen doing. So he doesn't need a name. He's just that masked guy. Which is fine. It doesn't need to be more than that, and is frankly a hell of a lot better reason for wearing it than quite a few Chars have: looking at you Mister Bushido, Chronicle Asher, Zeheart, Full Frontal and probably at least a few others I'm forgetting.

I think why people want more than that for a few reasons. one he is being pushed in the OP and just general build up of him now having a mask. This comes from him not doing much so far meaning people assume a mask means things will ramp up a bit and whatever plan he has is going into motion, him just wearing it for funsies kind of ruins that mood

I like how, in order to avoid attention, Gundam characters think that the only way to hide their identity is the most garish, gaudy, and unique masks they can get their hands on.

Its like they think that if they look like they stepped out of a theme park parade, no one will notice them.

Instead of, fuck I don't know, a wig or something. Maybe some sun glasses and a false moustache. Nah, that would be too low key. Time to custom make a gold fucking mask with robotic eyelids. That way I can sneak around without drawing attention.

The point isn't that they won't draw attention, it's that all anyone will be looking at or remember is the mask because it's so fucking garish it'll be the only thing anyone will even be looking at. At least in this guy's case anyways. If he was wearing a low key wig and some sunglasses people would be paying a lot more attention and trying to make out who was under them. As is, the only thing people will be thinking is "holy shit that's garish".
