Yeah I double checked and they mention that she was a prominent figure at the "Noachis July Assembly" thing which started the whole independence movement in the first place. It doesn't make sense for literally no one to know what she looks like.

She's the operator in the opening though. And while the opening isn't indicative of the series itself, it's not like it's too far of a stretch for them to go "hurr everything is forgiven join our family."

I have to admit, there is a lot about this story that is extremely convenient. Akihiro's brother being mentioned right before randomly showing up is actually less of a coincidence than Biscuit's brother not only being at the colony that Tekkadan delivered supplies to but also being the negotiator for the rebel movement that was sheltering the rest of the crew.

But then again, most of /m/ doesn't bat an eye at Diana and Kihel looking and sounding exactly alike, Casval and Char looking and sounding exactly alike, Sayla winding up on the ship that Char/Casval is hunting, Cagalli and Kira both being in the GAT hangar when Kira's childhood bestie attacked, etc, etc, so I don't really see why we should hold IBO to a higher standard.

Because you just listed things from multiple series happening. The Char and Sayla crap aren't even in the same league. Kira and Cagalli is a good example as is the Turn A one. The problem is that IBO has this happening all the time. The whole motives for some of the characters is assassinating a girl yet they don't know what she looks like. Despite her being a public speaker. Despite a spy living with her for years. That is too fucking stupid.

The only two absurd coincidences so far are Akihiro's brother and Biscuit's brother. The fact that Biscuit's brother doesn't know what Kudelia looks like isn't nearly on the level of Diana/Kihel, Belliri/Aida, Sayla/Char, Kira/Cagalli. It's just a character being ignorant of something they should know, not an absurd coincidence like sibling reunions or being identical strangers with the queen of the fucking moon.

It's from Tomino's novel, originally, but yes it's also in Origin 2. There was a real Char Aznable and Casval basically got Char killed and then took his placeo (this hasn't happened yet in the Origin anime, though). The reason he wears the eye mask is because the real Char had green eyes and Casval has blue eyes.

You're equating things that really aren't the same though. Well, I don't remember nearly enough of SEED to say much about it. But the other relationships are established as part of the setting. None of them come out of left field.

And to be clear, it's not specifically Biscuit's brother not knowing what Kudelia looks like (that's actually believable). It makes no sense that Gjallarhorn has no idea what Kudelia looks like. Especially not with the whole spy business.

The problem with Akihiro's brother is pretty obvious: the writing. People called that he would be a pirate right after he mentioned it, and they were right. Honestly, I don't have much of a problem with Biscuit's brother existing, but I don't like that it's repeating a similar kind of conflict as Akihiro and his brother (even fucking Mika drops a line on it). It just reeks of laziness.

Diana/Kihel looking the same is treated as a part of the setting, and the plot then develops from there. Bellri and Aida were hinted at, and again that was part of the setting. Same with Sayla and Char. It's not quite the same.

That was the entire point of the first 4 episodes. Corral was just trying to make her a bigger issue than she really was so he could get more resources to stop the various Martian unrest because he's an incapable fuck. That's why Mcgillis was sent to Mars to investigate whether or not Coral's group legitimately were doing their job.

The Dort colony cluster (actually, probably just Biscuit's brother who's a retard) erroneously believes giving Gjallarhorn Kudelia will mean something when really it won't. Noblis is over glorifying Kudelia to other poor people and building a very fake grandiose image of her. It's just barely getting out there to the people of 1st world countries in the show that poor people are looking up to her.

What Gjallarhorn stationed at Dort would do with Kudelia is just punish her for providing arms to the Costco equivalent staff there. The assassination plan isn't related to Biscuit's brother chancing upon Biscuit being with a girl.

Fumitan is supposed to be part of the plan t get her accidentally killed and for Noblis to start spreading rumors that Gjallarhorn killed her on purpose to incite unrest within the working class on that specific colony cluster and than to the greater surrounding areas.

I'm far more interested in this than most of the character drama going on. How extensively will it be remodeled? I'd imagine it'll at least have a more Gundam-looking head, if not be stripped down to the Gundam frame and have new armor created.

Plus I'm assuming the new suit Douchey McPurplehair got is a Gundam frame too, based on the face. I want to know more about the history and role of the Gundam frames during the War than I do anything about these characters.
