Why are there so few good WW2 inspired mechs?
How do you mean, exactly?
What makes a WW2 inspired design to you?
Because all you need are Girls. and. Panzers.
>>13744359
There's always tank witches
>>13744364
They have aesthetic elements inspired by WW2 vehicles.
>>13744389
oh its not like Gundam is the most famous mecha anime of all time and the reason they made this shitty fucking board or anything
>>13744389
>Guntank has tank treads
WOAH anon, I think Gundam is inspired by WW2.
>>13744389
>>13744419
>gundam.
>even remotely resembling ww2.
>>13744417
>>13744419
Gundam looks to futuristic.
It needs to have the impression that they're working with technology that was around in WW2.
Surely Kamen Rider X is WW2-inspired enough for you with a monster like Starfish Hitler.

Very cool
http://www.dustgame.com
Dust is a ww2 mech table top strategy game
you can never have too much Zimmeritt
Oh you mean like the Kinect Steel Battalion game where thanks to the magic of space microbes that chew up silicon everything reverts to WWII tech levels and aesthetics?
>>13745141
>>13744359
Well, there's Gear Krieg.
>>13744378
>>13744378
Fuck, I hate that design
Much prefer the Tiger II designs
>>13746520
>piledriver feet
>pile bunker
>fancy magic hologram HUD
Glorious.
>>13746546
Yup
I'm not really into Strike Witches, but Tank Witches get's me hard.
The ps2 game Rinf of Red had really cool 50'S and 60's military looking mechs
Ring* of Red
Be careful what you wish for
>>13746553
strike witches are fucking stupid anyway.
plane legs? c'mon... that shit would never fly IRL.
but tank witches... damn. that shit's mildly plausible. I want me some Rex & Ray girls.
>>13745107
It's also got the worst case of Kickstarter corruption and fraud.
>>13744378
>That Tiger
The Tiger was a metal box, but it was a cool metal box that looked imposing.
That's just plain metal boxes without any of the coolness or imposing look of the Tiger.
>>13746639
the jews let this happened?
>>13747289
I think it's quite imposing when you take into account the capabilities of the witch inside.
>>13747309
That page in >>13744378 doesn't do it justice.
>>13744369
JUST
>tfw multiple seasons of strike witches but still no tank witches anime
>>13744437
that isn't a t-34
>>13747793
>>13744437
that is a sherman
>>13744437
>It needs to have the impression that they're working with technology that was around in WW2.
I got a something for you, it's called any WWII documentary.
>>13747793
T34 is the denominator for the rocket launcher on top of the Sherman.
So yes, it's an M4 Sherman, but with a T34 attached.
>>13747819
T34 also refers to this.
>>13744378
That actually became a thing outside of concept art?
there's plenty of good ww2 inspired GERMAN mechs. It's pretty easy to accomplish, since you just make something blocky, ape some minor details like the viewports, and paint it grey or one of their wacky camoflauges.
There are precious few good soviet mechs, since nobody gives a shit, and there are very few good merican WW2 inspired mechs because the cast structure look is surprisingly hard to pull off.
this sentry bot does a decent job of capturing the look, but it's more based on the very similar korean war look.
>>13747816
But where can i find this ww2 documentary that features giant robots?
>>13747301
BELIEVE IT
>>13744359
Like half of the Goddamn Zeon mechs look like Nazis.
>>13744437
>It needs to have the impression that they're working with technology that was around in WW2.
But if they were working with WWII technology they wouldn't have mechs.
Also Maschinen Krieger.
>>13749546
How does that even fly?
>>13744359
bcause ww2 was shit
>>13749660
It's designed to be perfectly balanced.
>>13749664
Found the jap/nazi/pizza
>>13744359
>expecting good ww2 inspiration out of one of the war's losers
I know murrikans love ww2 and all, but you're not the whole world, you know.
>>13745938
Good to know some people remember.
>>13749550
On demand. Early designs looked like some mechanic ogres and gnomes and similar shit. Gyan was literally a knight in a suit of armor. But from OVAs onwards Zeon got naziboner, and started wearing Wehrmacht uniforms, and giving their grunt mobile suits steel helmets.
No Tetsujin?
>>13749775
are spaghettis even salty about ww2? I have to assume at some point they gave up on trying to take national pride in recent military accomplishments.
>>13747468
>tfw s2 was a major rehash of s1 and the movie fell prey to Miyafujesus so it's not like planelegs had it that good or anything
>>13752940
>are spaghettis even salty about ww2?
They claimed that they fought the good war and that the two genocides they attempted between WW1 and 2 were not actually a thing.
But then again, the difference between dropping sarine gas bombs and burning sleeping women and children alive with Napalm is academic.
>no ma.k
WW2 inspired the 2007 Tetsujn 28 series, and the earlier Giant Robo - The Animation, and even the Kishin Corps OV series...also Super-Atragon, and the frickin' Space Battleship Yamato franchise.
These used to be reposted a lot when WW2 theme is brought up.

Aye, though that was the rage amongst mecha designs back in early mid 2000's.
>>13746479
