I'd say every character in the show if Tekkaman Blade II didn't exist (and it shouldn't), but Noal gets screwed over either way. Either he becomes a cripple or he gets killed offscreen as if he isn't important. Truly, the writers were sadists.

It was either that or doing novels. Let's face it, no one in Sunrise hires him for anything else (heck, no other anime studio hired him in ages). The last time he fully directed a series not related to mecha or his Wings of Rean/Dunbine IP was Triton, and that was an adaptation. The directorial equivalent of typecasting is unfair at times.

See I never got why ZZ is made invalid by the movies. The Argama was still damaged, it probably would still require going to Shangri-La for repairs. They would still meet Judau and all, it;s just that Kamille would stay the pilot of the Zeta. I can see Judau joining up and eventually getting the ZZ.
