Why is Jerid so bad?

God, I wish Zeta did more with Jerid. For a while, it managed to make me want to root for him. He started off as a worthless little shit and then it seemed as if he was getting better.

Funny how the first A.C.E. game featured Jerid with his Baund Doc in spite of it being so short lived. Not that I'm complaining.

He's a high school bully that his Titan superiors like assigning the most inhumane jobs to. Then he chalks his deeds up to following orders.

That's the entire point of his character m8. He's supposed to show what would have happened to Kamille if he never learned how to control his quick temper. In fact by the end of the series Kamille barely recognized who Jerid was because he realized there were more important things going on than some stupid grudge.

Why do they keep giving brand-new models to Jerid when he always gets them trashed the second Kamille is involved?

It's funny how they start out as legit rivals but by the end Jerid is such a nobody that their rivalry is the equivalent of Rufus and Ken in SFIV.

Exactly. There was a minor grudge early on but Kamille let go of it so long ago he barely recognized who Jerid was during their final battle, meanwhile Jerid is obsessed over him so much it caused all his waifus to be killed.

I still remember that rumor about how Jerid was supposed to survive and become Amuro's wingman in Char's Counterattack while a Kamille controlled through Cyber-Newtype technology would've been under Char. Fuck, I want to see that now.

Yeah, Kamille doesn't hold Jerid killing his mom against him, but Kamille hardly got along with his parents in the first place, that's how he ended up getting into mobile suits. Shit, he even fights his dad in a mobile suit battle.

I'd get the idea of Jerid taking it too far if Kamille wasn't the one guy to kill everyone that Jerid had ever cared about, over a long period of time even.

I mean, I'm not saying he's not a prick, but come on. Jerid really never gets a chance to lick his wounds before he gets another stabbing.

After episode 30 they are going left and right with him. Initially it seems that after Kilimanjaro he start to view the "big picture" as what is really important and gets less tempered.. But then after the Gates of Zedan its back to old business, there was not much room for him. You got Kamille who has to reach Scirocco in one piece while at the same time Jerid and Yazan who are loose ends had to be tied up. Both of these characters could not really be given a proper "duels" because main guy has to reach the "final boss" intact.

Jerid was very popular in the fanrankings this was the reason why he had to stay around for the very end. Would have been better if he went down with the Baund Doc during the Psyco Gundam MK II debacle. Ontop of that it would have actually made sense two Baund Docs escorting MKII and him being the leader of the Newtype corps.

The final encounter was plain bad Jerid vs Kamille fights were one of the better ones in Zeta because it didn't consist of just grappling each other. To see him resort to the whole grappling debacle in a highly maneuverable MS during a chase made me sigh since he was one of the few characters that actually fired at their enemies and when he went up to close quarters he pulled out a saber etc
