My gripe with those lists are that it gives you two options, ether watch everything in production order (and you don't need a fucking jpg file to tell that) or go through a list of pros and cons, most of which say nothing at all and try to pick what sounds interesting.
But that also has the problem that the pros and cons side doesn't covey when shows are direct sequels to each other, or otherwise related.
Sure it tells the timelines, but it's trivial to have different stories that have little to do with each other in a timeline.
