Does this count as a space train?
>>
>>13728105
Unfortunately I don't think so but I wish they were.
4chan needs a retro anime board.

You bet your ass they are, chump.

Space is /m/.
Trains are /m/.
Therefore space trains are /m/.
>>
>>13728105
It might be best to ask Mega-Anon about it, since he's the train expert in the fansubbing community.

999 and Leiji's universe never made sense to me from a scientific point of view but I like to not think about how they don't and just enjoy them.
>>
>>13728346
Gundam don't make sense either but they're both awesome.
>>
>>13728362

Stuff like Maetel and Tetsuro casually opening the train windows in space while not thinking about the repercussions bothered me quite a lot.
>>
>>13728372
Don't they explain the reason behind that? Force field around the train or something.
>>

GOOD LUCK
>>
>>13728105
Yes.

Also everyone who claims GE999 movies are better than the series is retarded.
>>
>>13728384
I know they do in the first 999 movie at least. The trains are all hyper advanced space craft with a train skin on them for nostalgia sake.
>>
>>13728372
Sometimes it's better to leave it to imagination than have explanation. If you have seen Big O, you know what I mean.

Some of them are

>>
>>13728105

Do they transform into giant robots? If not then gtfo.
>>
>>13728681
There's no giant robots in LOGH either. It's not /m/ either?
>>
>>13728718
are you, perhaps, autistic?
>>
>>13728732
We go by the jap definition of mecha here, which means anything mechanical in nature like trains and things like toasters or microwaves. If you don't like it, then that's just too bad.
>>
>>13728681
>>13728718
What a fucking newfag.
>>
>>13728732
You cannot define /m/, anon. It's something you feel with your heart. When you see it you'll understand it.
>>
Trains are just fucking rad. I used to volunteer on a steam railway and I only got to work the plate once but it was a shit hot experience.

Fixed that for you, and yes, always yes.

Like so many others have said already, yes, space train are definitely /m/. Hell, train has been super /m/ since its inception. It's one of the earliest symbols of the strength of the MACHINE and promise of INDUSTRY.

I really wish they make a comeback of some sort in modern shows.

No word on if they'll make one at all. The toys aren't in stock on most websites so hopefully it's an indication that they are selling.

No one knows, but there's a backstory now. In English too!

>4chan needs a retro anime board.

Would probably become the best place to discuss anime on the site, barring fights over what counts as "retro." Generally the quality of a board seems to be increased by lower populations and higher median age of posters.
>>
>>13728105
Yes, dammit.

No, but there are robots.

You don't have to post that retard. Just ignore anyone who says it.
>>
>>13729666
You'd be surprised at how shitty some of the threads on /vr/ are.

Part of that is because it's the same posters who used to be on /v/ before there was /vr/ I guess.

In car terms, a "classic" is anything 15 years or older, right?

We could go with that.

>>13730563

>>13730574
No we couldn't! That would mean something like Wing would be considered for a classic status. That whether SEED is a classic will be open to debate in two years, and that's simply unacceptable!
>>
>>13730723
I mean we could say retro is 15 years, not classic. Because otherwise steaming piles of shit like Tobikage, New Dunbine, or their ilk are "classic".
>>
>>13730749
Maybe I overreacted a little, but 15 year old shows doesn't feel very old.

But then it would suffice as a cut off point since shows that are 16 or 17 years old are definitely old enough to be talked about calmly in good humor.
>>
>>13730785
>15 year old shows doesn't feel very old.

I agree with you there, but then I think about the fact that I started watching anime in the early 90s and at the time I certainly considered late 70s shows to be old. How old something has to be to feel old has a lot to do with how old you are. ;_;
>>
>>13730785
>>13731321
Perhaps 18 years, then? 4chan's supposed to be for people of 18+ years, so "retro" would be the same age as the that.
>>
>>13731323
That's as fitting of a justification as any. 18 sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Boards can't be made easily, but why not make a thread to discuss retro stuff in a regular basis?
>>
>>13730563
Yes you damn newfag.

I imagine it would suck. I've never liked the idea of new niche boards and /his/ soured me on the idea for good.

A retro anime board would probably be like an entire board of that one OtaKing picture talking about how good the 80's was and how anime today doesn't have 400 tones of shading so it's shit.
>>
>>13736108
Threads for older anime on /a/ are usually pretty good in my experience, but that may be in part due to their infrequency. A whole board might be a bit too much room for the topic, which tends to result in either a dead board or massive shitposting.
