Guess what's out, but completely locked down?
I think OP posted the 1080p batch from:
It's password locked, though, which I guess is what he meant. You're better off downloading the BDMVs at this point, unless there's a way to crack the password.
I can confirm, password is good.
Now, where to get subs to go with the files?
Yes, it looks like they did a good job on this.
I tried a quick mux with the E-D release; episode 01 seems to work fine for both subs and english audio.
It's just that the big yellow subs are really distracting on a 1080p release...
I extracted ep 01 from the first rar, it was not slow at all.
One important caveat: opening the zipped file with 7-zip gave me back an error; I had to open it with Winrar to get it to work.
>It's just that the big yellow subs are really distracting on a 1080p release...
Kind of adds to this show's charm, in a sense. Not too much different from Mazinger Z's Garada subs.
I'm an old man you know, I have began to appreciate the niceties the technological progress has brought, even if those niceties are not the "real experience".
In any case, a bit of OCR with Subtitle Edit gave me what you see posted in no time; they still have to be spellchecked, as some words were recognized wrongly.
Ok, subsanon here.
Converting the IDX and the SUB file to SRT is quite more challenging than I expected, because text formatting is totally lost in the conversion. So, I guess it's yellow subs for now.
But there is another small problem, and I'm hoping the /m/ hivemind may give me the solution: the subs are slightly out of sync, just about -300 milliseconds (just enough to be a little fastidious).
For the life of me, I wasn't able to find a program that was capable of editing the timings of IDX+SUB files: any ideas?
Aegissub does not support IDX+SUB files, I tried.
But anyway, I've just resolved the issue: I edited directly the IDX with a text editor and gave it the delay at the beginning.
I'm downloading the release from E-D now, I'll post a MEGA or a Mediafire link as soon as the batch is ready.
Save yourself some trouble and just retime/restyle these in Aegissub.
Oh boy, I did find that page, but it looked like those subs were only in russian; I was obviously wrong; these subs work perfectly (just retime them at -300 milliseconds).
Is anyone here still interested in a yellow subs batch release?
That'd be nice. I'd love to see OnDeed fully commit themselves to release the whole series if it gets any (because neither the current R1s or R2s are too hot).
>Is anyone here still interested in a yellow subs batch release?
I'll take 'em.
Pretty sure there's a nip slip scene to begin with, too.
At least on my monitor and my tv the difference is pretty noticeable, especially full-screen.
- In about 2 hours the SRTs will be ready and uploaded. Sorry for the wait, but I noticed that in later episodes the timings had to be adjusted multiple times, and I'm still downloading the episodes (300 kb/s internet connection, yay!).
- Yellowsubs are coming too! Now that I have learned the editing IDX trick, I just have add the delay manually with a text editor where it's needed.
Yellowsubs are styled better than SRTs, and the readability in multi-dialogue situations is excellent, but they look blurry on 1080p and take a lot of space onscreen; SRTs are way crisper and take the right amount of space onscreen, but can get confusing with overlapping dialogues.
I'm sure SRTs can be edited to be on par with IDX+SUBs for readability, but I sincerely don't have the willpower to do it.
Anyways, links will be posted in about 2-3 hours!
That you have no reason to bother with here. You aren't writing a story, don't use shit that has no place outside of that.
No, it just makes someone look like a dumbass. Not as much as you do for actually endorsing it, but still.
It's not great, but it's certainly preferable to this
Yeah you can tell they just ran it through a filter, but it's way less of a blurry mess in fullscreen than the shitty dvd rips we've had until now
It took a liiiiitle bit more than the promised 2-3 hours, but I'm done!
The .ZIP contains both SRTs and IDX+SUBs, just copy what you want in the same directory of the video file and you are good to go.
I did the best I could, I'm sure it could be done better.
The subs were edited from E-D release (kudos to them), and have been simply retimed; they were not spellchecked or corrected in any other way.
In any case, have some quality Shizuru's ass to celebrate.
>odd TL notes
Half of them don't even have anything to do with translation.
The video quality is pretty ass, too.
I miss it to be honest, you could really tell that the show was being done by fans instead of "professionals". I appreciate it in a very weird way, maybe I've just gotten old and nostalgic.
Less Idolmaster, more Godannar.
Have a Nyanbot...
... and Not-KoujiKabuto happy family.
Also, in my headcanon, Sugiyama's wife is Jun from Great Mazinger.
Have a random screenshot from episode 15
Seems good enough.
Speaking of theories, this one's a classic.
Did a simple resampling to 1080p with Lanczos. You could probably put some filter on it or use something other than Lanczos to make it look better. Would be interesting to see compared to the BD.
To be fair, I've never seen a source for the exact reason they made the doujins. We have proof of one of them, but I've only heard people say they made it for funding and not for fun and money.
They were for the PC-98, which was a Japanese home computer made by NEC. Despite being called "PC" it was not IBM-Compatible which is the kinda PC that has descended into modern Windows and Linux machines.
I think I mostly know it for the place where the first real H CGs came from, with that grainy 16 color look.
Oh yes. It gave us sexy Gendou.
There's something similar in the Eva game but I think that picture is edited from somewhere else
It did give us this gem though, Lenin checking out dat ass
