I guess looks are a bit subjective but I love her design, her hair and shield hairpins are cute. Also, her being thicker was kinda refreshing and her whole concept is a huge collection of references (st odessa school, the uniforms, her team's name). The link with a s1 character was also great.
She was fun, totally Sazaki 2.0 but when the rest of the cast was so lifeless and boring she stood out. Being more upbeat and spewing references every now and then was a nice touch since that was what made the first season so great.
R-GyaGya was actually one of my favorite gunpla of the show along with Tryon 3 and GM Cardigan, it just felt right since R-jarja is in a way the Gyan's little sister and there was some sentimental stuff going on with the shields being made by her brother. It helped that it wasn't a completely original suit like the main units or super boring like the Lightning, I hated that shit in Try.
