We need to go back a bit to explain this

Mask had been working to get rid of the oppression by going through the system. He wanted to work his way to the top even befriending the son of a government official. The chance he gets to shoot up the ranks even if it is risky he takes. The problem with his plan is he just got used instead of using. He got a squad full of Kuntala on a big mission but then he loses them and it's his fault. He tried to change stuff by playing the game but got played cause systems do just eat you up. All it did was make him meet more racists (who didn't even hate kuntala just didn't know better than to talk like they do) and fee; bad that he isn't making progress. That is why we see him start to blame others for his misfortune. It is much easier to make a big genki idol to hate than accept a bigger picture

At the end he is out of it and him and Manny are happier. He is no longer be bullied and instead has more freedom. It's like when some family member has being stressing you out so you go on holiday and can just get on with living.

I love G-Reco but the ending left a lot to be desired. Specifically, because we don't actually know if quote above is true. The last time we see Mask, he's climbing out of the wreck that was his mobile suit and doing a "Khaaaaannnnn!!" like scream at Bellri. Next minute, he's enjoying a relaxing camping trip with Manny, with no exposition or demonstration of how Mask got from point A all the way to point Q.

I can only assume that, as the conflict ended, and Mask was made to passively sit and watch Bellri & Co delegate and administer peace, that he was assuaged of his baseless fears that Bellri was going to become a space dictator (which to me always felt like bullshit justification on Mask's part, talking himself into believing what he's doing is just) and learned to relax and take the stick out of his ass once he started banging Manny.

But again, that's just an assumption here. I also don't exactly buy Mask returning Manny's feelings either. That part doesn't feel justified or earned properly. There's just a moment where Mask is like, "Oh, you like me, huh? Yeah, why not, I guess we can do this." Manny & Mask are probably the two least developed aspects of the show and could have used another few episodes in the cooker. Especially when Banana gets BTFO'd and forgotten for no reason. Mask's relationship with Manny felt less like "This is the love of my life Lalah!" and more "This girl is loyal, and brings me amazing mechs, I can use her!" like Quess, IMO. And then magically happy ending.

See, that's another thing that isn't really established. Bellri bails out of the G-Self, but really the damage to it isn't remotely fatal as far as IIRC. Like, a leg gets chopped off and some other stuff, but the core seems pretty OK. It seems like the level of damage that the Mk II suffers at the end of Zeta, but they're able to repair that back up.

It's also not as if they can't just make another G-Self if they wanted, or have Bellri move over to the equally OP G-Lucifer.

I did, and my point was that suddenly a switch was hit, and they're suddenly in that mode, rather than any level of build up to it. Manny comes back with a stolen mech and suddenly Mask remembers she exists versus before when she was an afterthought, rather than them getting to slowly know one another.

I think the comparison between Luin and SJWs is pretty clever, but I think it's gotten to the point where the joke is getting in the way of seeing Luin as he was meant to be seen. I highly doubt Tomino was thinking about Japanese SJWs when he wrote the character. Although another old Japanese guy, Haruki Murakami, did have a little takedown of SJWs in Kafka by the Shore, and there was the matriarchy in Victory, so I guess it wouldn't be that ridiculous.
