Today is the day.
See how the heroes become the greatest dictators in this story.
Yatterman are assholes, all hail our hobo saviours.
The original Yatterman and Doronbo are most likely exactly like they've always been. The people currently using the name Yatterman are pretty much guaranteed to be evil, whether or not they actually are descendants of the originals.
>The only way to make Dorombo Gang look like hero is to make the Yatterman edgelords
This is already as bad as Crowds. Why was Sins the other reboot that wasn't fucking stupid?
>This is already as bad as Crowds.
You're kidding, right? Autistic people have trouble getting out of their daily routine and understanding other people, getting into their point of view.
Hajime if anything is TOO good at that.
There's a good reason, really; the show hasn't been properly fully-subbed yet (just like any Time Bokan thing that isn't the Royal Revival), since the Anime Sols deal fell through. There are full subs on Youtube, but those are shit that was made up by the supposed subber.
>All complaints regarding Crowds I hear always boil down to either "not m-muh gatchaman" or "mary sue protagonist"
It's a mess on a writing and technical level
The characters are shit
Both endings are bad
And yeah not having anything to do with Gatchaman is a huge turn off and false advertising
I really really like the animation and hope it's not just a first episode thing.
As >>11954640 said, I can't believe that Imaishi styled explosions, smokes and effects aren't Gainax.
They also managed to put the loli in it well and not just have her a loli for maximum audience pandering.
The fact she's an actual 9 years old orphan makes every doujin that will come out horrible though.
I don't think they'll ever get around to edging up my favorite Tatsunoko hero.
So? It's not false advertising as long as promotions and ads didn't lie about what the show was about. The title alone isn't advertisement. Nobody sued Squaresoft for putting "Final Fantasy" in the title of Spirits Within. Of course, them not having any money after that movie was released could've played a role.
Considering he was pretty fucking hardcore in his own series I see that hard to do.
>fights goons in masks
>he knows they are goons
>he still beats them to a pulp while breaking their teeth, blood spilling out etc.etc.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it, I was fully expecting it to be just as bad as Crowds. I wasn't even fazed by loli Doronjo and I've constantly bitched about it up to this point.
She will never be as good as muh milf but it's something I guess.
You can improve the animation all you want, you'll never get any more delicious Amano designs in modern anime anymore.
And no, not bad Amano like Vampire Hunter D, I mean awesome Amano like Gatchaman Casshern and early FF.
>You can improve the animation all you want, you'll never get any more delicious Amano designs in modern anime anymore.
In a better world, I would be able to have both. To hell with updating designs that are already perfect.
>Vampire Hunter D
The hell you talking about nigga? If there's anything that bad Amano it's
the current way he draws most characters. Still pretty great on an artistic level though.
I love this, the visuals were amazing and the viewpoint of Yattermen as antagonists is nice. I hated Crowds because it tried so many things but couldn't deliver anything but seems like this is taking different path.
>not bad Amano like Vampire Hunter D
>Vampire Hunter D
If you like early FF Amano it's physically impossible to dislike his work on Vampire Hunter D, it's the same exact style.
Now, I agree on the fact that Amano not doing awesome Toku heroes at all since, 30 years now, is bad but his style is really too artsy for mainstream shit, and perhaps it's better like this.
Also, check out SaGa's designer Tomomi Kobayashi, her /m/ stuff is great.
There's no such thing as tumblr anime, just anime tumblr happens to like. Frankly, it seems like the kind of thing born from struggling to find something wrong with his shows.
Anyhow, Kenji Nakamura isn't directing Yatterman of the Night.
I'm referring to the animation, not the art design.
Art design for Vampire Hunter D is great, the actual animation style not so much.
What I like about the Tatsunoko anime is that they managed to take his particular artistic style and give it a manly rendition while mantaining the overall looks.
So we've had what, five posts talking about the show? And three of them are just "loli doronjo doesn't suck".
Fucking get it together and stop whining about Crowds and Tumblr.
I'm liking the juxtaposition of the very lighthearted and slapstick new Doronbo Gang and the dystopic world around them. The Yattermooks could be fucking terrifying if played correctly. The show has a lot of potential if they can pull it off.
Outside of this one specific scene the animation was top notch. Here's to the coming decline.
They are probably mechanical copies of the originals. In the opening they are literally fighting mass produced copies of them in various sizes. Why are they established a distopic kingdom? Probably the main villain of the original series hijacked them. The true inheritors of the Yatterman are probably the boy and the girl who (according to the official site profiles) are condemned to force labor and will join force with Doronjo. They also hate the Yatterman, so they don't know their legacy.
Yes, it explains everything you need to know. Also the original is pure episodic comedy. Theoretically you can watch the first episode and the last and you wouldn't miss anything plotwise. That said it was pretty fun and influential at the time of release.
Well it's not like the website is trying to hide that those two are the true heirs of the Yatterman seeing as the have the same necklace as some depictions of Yatterman-1 and Yatterman-2.
Did you see what happened the last time someone said that?
Maybe this is all a fake story told by Doronbo to build sympathy. Remember, they're con artists.
This show is actually just their way to steal your money so they can build their next robot to pull even bigger crimes and also fight Gan and Ai.
The first episode was good. This kind of role reversal rarely works for me, but that's because it's usually done in the Wicked model that insists the original portrayals of the characters were wrong.
This show breaks the tradition of cartoon genetics even worse than Gumball.
10/10, would buy collector's edition Blu-Ray box.
Apparently the descendants of Ai-chan and Gan-chan are named Aloutte and Galina.
Completely shit show
>Just because I din do nuffin means I deserve your medication for free
Fuck if everybody thought they were entitled to the products of people who worked hard for it just because they think that they've done nothing wrong in their life then the world would turn upsidedown.
Actually, empathy can be demonstrated by autistic spectrum disorder cases. Whatever mental image you have of an autistic type, it is almost guaranteed that you can find someone who is nearly the exact antithesis of that behavioral pattern.
Symptoms of ASD can be expressed in a wide variety of ways, even across the life span of a single case.
Yeah, and that's why it's called a spectrum and not a singular illness.
Because it's a bunch of badly-defined but strangely-interconnected symptoms and problems that tend to be very individualized despite common threads.
So what you're telling me is that amateur psychologists on 4chan are poorly informed and make stupid assumptions based on little evidence but "i feel like this is correct"?
Golly, I never would have guessed.
People need to stop accusing every character who acts weird of having some sort of mental condition or disorder anyway.
Yup, so the VA of Leopard mom is also the voice of Alouette. It really reinforce the idea of a family connection and the theory that all the true Yatterman descendents were exiled by impostors.
Did you know you could, for a while, get credit cards that looked like this in Japan?
What a totally trustworthy and reliable look to have on your finances.
Stupid question; but is the series related to that one that recently had a webcomic or web animation short where the daughter was a superheroine and her mother cameo'd as a former superheroine?
I recall /m/ talking about it a short while back, and it was a recent series of shorts, and I could have sworn mother and daughter were wearing something similar to the Yatterman attire. I can't remember the name of that series, but it gave me Tatsunoko style vibes.
2nd Time Bokan. Yatta-man ( or Yattarman).
The new season takes place in a hypothetical future of Yattarman. (More or less it's the same trick of Casshern Sin and Rockman zero). So even if disconnected, some important reference could come out, (definitely a Dokrobei revenge).
Anyways, The Yattarmen had fifteen special robots, that they alternated during the season (including YattaDog, the most iconic). It would be nice if they were all recreated in evil version.
It should be like this (according to official staff's point of view)
Doronjo is an hottie when she does not make stupid faces, but i like this new little kid.
in a few years, she will probably become even more sexy than the original one.
>not loving your waifu no matter how stupid her faces are
Would you date a woman like Doronjo, knowing full well that she is a villain/criminal?
That would be the lesser problem, the biggest is that Doronjo has a terrible temper, so bad that in comparison, Ange is a Disney princess.
At mid season of Time Bokan, even Boyakki Torsula and end up hating her, and she will never really change.
Nothing, really, it's just not exactly a common name, to say the least (in English no less). It does fit the animal motif of the Doronbos, I'll give them that much credit.
Speaking of Time Bokan, it would be good if its Anime Sols stream gets funded someday, since it'll likely be a long time before Luurah even considers doing the franchise.
Need funding to deal with the evil Yatterman
Wow, that was good. I can't wait to see the rest. I was honestly not expecting much of anything, but I even teared up a bit. I know this is a bit of a different beast from the original, but it at least ties itself to it, unlike Crowds.
It's like a what if story as opposed to the in-name-only reboot Crowds was. It's much more like Sins, in that regard.
Hopefully it keeps up the pace and comedy and ends up a more engaging show than Sins was. It's certainly off to a stronger start.
It's ok to admit Marjo is your waifu. Nobody will judge you.
actually i like it, decent but not as good as the original (and even original blade has some problems like being too slow), it felt that it was too much focus on earth's problems instead of the radam, i would like it even more if
missing link was released before thisand seeing aki blowing the fuck out of the new girl in screen or at least making her understand all the shit d-boy and aki have went through seriously that bitch's intentions pissed me off, and i admit i have never feel something like that to a character ever
>implying I would
Fourth row, anon.
It might be a Pokémon reference. I don't think there's ever been an official confirmation, but Liepard (Lepardas in Japan) is fairly commonly thought to be partially based on Doronjo.
I guess that'd make Leopard a Purrloin.
I would reform her with my love.
Very good point, then.
The main issue is (that I heard about before), that there's so much wordplay jokes it's downright challenging for amateur translators to take on. The fact that Anime Sols has an experienced ex-fansubber who managed to do some Yatterman episodes is a fleeting miracle.
>That said, Leopard is an oddly badass name for a girl, when you think about it.
It's a perfectly fine name, as far as I'm concerned.
