Izubuchi's pretty great, but unfortunately, he can't quite beat Kawamori, Ebikawa, and Obari.

None of them were responsible for my favorite mecha design, though.

Kaiser is practically the same mech as Gravion and Ordian. They are basically redesigns; they look good, but Obari lacks range IMO.

Obari's not much of a mecha designer though.

Obari is a re-designer, he will take someone else's concept and improve(?) on it.

His own designs are very limited and often feel same-ish. Dragonfang from Ordian is just Dragonar readjusted. He'll claim on twitter "but they don't have any parts the same!!!" but when are quick glances they look the same to the casual eye, that bullshit doesn't fly.

The stuff he's done for Vanguard is also very same-same looking.

I have a stinking feeling even Shurouga, which looks fairly original, is probably just a readjustment of a pre-existing design Banpresto/Winkysoft made in the 90s.
