Anyone play Beyond Earth? It's not an exceptional game by any stretch, but I loved the angular, polygonal designs of the Supremacy affinity. They get robots, Purity get space marine suits, and Harmony are xeno loving scum.

Yeah man, I pirated the shit out of it because Firaxis deserves it for how they rape the fuck out of their initial releases so they can later sell DLC content that should've been in the game on day one.

The potential for a 4x as good as if not better than Civ 5 is there, but man does the game have some serious issues.

That being said, Supremacy has the best aesthetic, but is probably the weakest of the three affinities. Purity is the middle ground in terms of looks and performance. Harmony has some of the ugliest shit, but you can't deny that it's the strongest affinity by a pretty big margin.

So purity all the way, because fuck the aliens, they're gonna get wiped out regardless of what you choose anyways. Diplomacy AI is a fucking joke too.

For some reason, I feel like I would have loved an XCOM styled tile based combat game as opposed to a Civ styled game.

The designs are all pretty great, there's a pretty big emphasis on keeping your grunts relevant throughout the campaign, and the actual commerce and diplomacy aspects feel ancillary as shit.

Imagine walking into battle against some fucking aliens with your spess mureens,
