Aside from any of the various SRW games, because there's so many favorites, I'd have to go with Armored Core: Silent Line.

Interestingly enough despite having played many mecha games in recent years including SRW, GGen, AC and various Gundam titles, the game I remember the most is Slave Zero on the PC.

Well, if you like AC3, Silent Line is more of that, except even better. Plus, you can carry over your AC3 save, just like with AC2 > Another Age and AC > Phantasma > Arena.

In it's defense, GvZ was an updated version of AEUG vs Titans, which did have a campaign mode, so it's likely that campaign mode was replaced to give players something different that time around.
Problem was AEUG vs Titans was never released stateside, so a lot of people never got the chance to be a Titan shooting down Junior MS.
