The book you are currently reading. I'm with Fahrenheit 451, page 55 and so far I don't really like it.
Northern Girls by Sheng Keyi. Softcore porn-slash-social commentary about a Chinese village girl cursed with massive tits who ends up becoming a whore in Shenzhen during the boom years. It's pretty fappable and funny.
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Only like 40 pages in.
I loved The Buried Giant, so I'm eager to read this. Unfortunately I have had the story spoiled for me; my enjoyment likely won't be as high as going in blind.
I'm still reading pic related. I've been reading about a chapter a night. I'm into Part Five so I'll be finishing it up soon. I've enjoyed the mellow ride.
Note From the Underground. I'm currently on the first page (just read the first paragraph!) and I really like it so far. I finally get all the references to it on lit.
>I am a sick man. I am a wicked man. I think my liver hurts.
Confederacy of Dunces, page 110ish
Pretty fun read, I wouldnt go as far as to say its hysterical, and the satire is a bit heavy handed but enjoyable. The accented prose is light and doesnt intrude on reading (as compared to say, Huckleberry Finn).
I especially enjoy the way the narration flows between each character, the best way I could describe it stylistically is that is reminds me of Alejandro González Iñárritu's camera work, which may be a stretch.
i just finished flowers for algernon last night.
at first i was like "lit has rused me yet again" - but then i was like ; _ ;
started elaine pagels the gnostic gospels this morning. half through and MEH
Gravity's Rainbow. I got about 300 pgs in before giving up last time - now im taking notes and trying to go slower. Still in the first section. I really enjoy the parts where it explains the various characters views on the world - Ruggles does a good job of presenting ideas through them. I'm also really enjoying Mexico and Jessica's relationship.
