Just because he has a different hobby then all of us doesn't mean he's a man child or less intelligent. Just listen to his fluency in english while most of you can hardly grasp the beginnings of learning a new language. On top of that he's an extremely well respected musician within his genre.
>>7603160 Don't be ignorant. He defended himself against against someone trying to kill him. And that's one more language than you friend. Denouncing the skill involved to learn a new language fluently just because other people in his country can also do the same thing, is complete ignorance.
>>7603176 What most fail to understand is that knowing if there is a power above us is incomprehensible to humans. There might be, might not be. But that also makes Atheism a religion, because you have faith that there is no god. You have no proof. In reality how is him doing that any different then Catholics performing the Eucharist?
The only one I can think of right now is the guy he killed, who legitimately said this:
>They [Christians] must feel that there is a dark, evil power present that they have to fight, which…will make them more extreme. We also believe that when a church burns it's not only Christians who suffer, but people in general. Imagine a beautiful old stave church...what happens when it burns? The Christians feel despair, God's house is destroyed and ordinary people will suffer from grief because something beautiful was destroyed. So you end up spreading grief and despair, which is a good thing.
I guess there is an ounce of redemption for Varg (seriously, I can't stop smirking when I type it out) for killing the above quoted lord of the edge, but still, he did it for the wrong reasons.
>>7603389 >That's like being the most respected guy in the MLP fandom. Not at all. Playing an instrument takes talent, practice and skill. Making good music with those skills is another skill in itself. Music is subjective, so to those that like black metal, he is very respected, possibly even the most respected, in the the entire genre.
I'm really not, no. I acknowledge that some people have different opinions and hobbies. Some people like to eat shit, for example. I can acknowledge it and find fault with it. All at the same time. No hypocrisy.
You're a great troll man. Perfect balance between outrageous stupidity and underplayed sincerity that makes it that much more believable.
>>7603515 Why even take the effort to care and form opinions about someone else's shit eating though? How does it benefit you at all? Just understand its an opinion and move along. When you can understand this, you will find peace.
>Fuck off list: Black metal ‘elitest’ kids who have not been able to grasp or show the real essence of intolerance, nihilism and hatred in their REAL lives away from the internet, yet these ‘individuals’ claim to be some part of some ‘elite’ black metal movement that has not left any scar on humanity, these are the same people who use black metal as their crutch! I would expect some dead bodies lying around at their feet by now based on how fast they run their ‘evil’ mouths! Return to the ‘subculture’ scene that rejected you or salvage some dignity and shut the fuck up. Your need for human love and acceptance by your peers (and others) sickens me! Your epitaph will be a bar code. You know who you are yet you’ve forgotten you’re really nothing, I know who you are. These teenage scene veterans’ (a contradiction) need their fucking faces smashed in to teach them the meaning of respect and honor. With all that said, I just might hate you as much as I hate those normal human beings in the light world, I never thought it would come to this. You have once or twice judged me, now it’s my turn.
>>7604915 I find it amusing that he started out as this super misanthropic black metal artist and now is basically a cynical hippie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp9k6_0GdkU I do like his new stuff and what Nocturnal Poisoning did, a lot more interesting than what was approaching walls of noise with old Xasthur.
>>7603358 >He defended himself against against someone trying to kill him. Did the churches try to kill him too? I don't know where you live, but I think that violent churches is something you can back away from.
Or what about that firefighter who died? Did he attack Kristian Vikernes too?
>>7601015 I haven't read it but I read somewhere that he barely uses any footnotes in his work and that it is largely an interpretation of what he believes to be true. Which I guess everyone does, but Varg's insights seem to be more based on personal gut and instinct, feeling, than rationality. This is something I've read or heard though. I haven't personally read the book though I intend to one day.
I abide by the code of honour and chivalry, so to all those who repeatedly insult me on forums hiding behind their computer screen: I am available at anytime of the day for a fistfight or any type of sword or crossbow duel. I just purchased an automatic pistol crossbow. It's a mix between a gun and a crossbow, it's like a pistol but it fires arrows. I killed a goat with a shot in the stomach at point-blank range by alluring it with grass; the beast died three hours later. I will do the same with you. I know that you like grass, like all sheep do.
The book can probably be good i have never read it but i listened to some of his videos where he talks about nordic mythology
of course the book wont be scholarly becuase there are literally no sources that are not influenced by christians on ancient scandinavian mythology if you dont count a few runestones
Varg is trying to interpet a tradition long dead and does a better job than any academic i ever read even if most of what he is saying is almost D&D-tier its nice to see someone who does not care if his interpetations step on some toes
>>7603467 He used to be respected. Everything he has recorded post prison sucks. That coupled with the crazy shit he says on youtube has finally made the black metal community realise how bad he is now.
>>7608432 The problem with saying that Burzum is the best of black metal is that he is so atypical of the genre. Also the only good thing he ever did was Hvis lyset tar oss. Everything leading up to it was just that, leading up to it, and everything that came after was an anti-climax. It's the only album where he shows any ability to write music with anything other than the most basic structure.
>>7603467 >skill Anon, I've known people who play guitar better than him after only a year. He's a rubbish musician. He's punk-tier in terms of his playing ability.
