Hmmm, I do recall having known a trans-frog, he really impressed a lot of people with himself, but I had a profound appreciation for what a piece of shit he is, and have been very interesting in making clear to other people the nature of his sickness. He didn't even have to say what he was, from the way he interacted and kept everyone filled in about various aspects of his life, his frog-identity was very apparent.

They are obviously either delusional or trolling.

However, there is a certain portion of the trans community and its allies that have argued previously that a trans individual is already, pre-everything, a man/woman (whichever they identify as). According to this argument, any one of us could be male or female at any given time, and the only determining criterion is what we claim to be. It is a ludicrous argument and the attack helicopter argument is an excellent example of why it is so ridiculous.

But obviously it is only one part of the trans community making the aforementioned argument. Others have much more sophisticated arguments for the validity of trans individuals (eg. brain structure), and these attack helicopter and trans-species arguments do not really apply to them. Unfortunately these arguments have not been retired for two reasons:
1. Some members of the trans community and its allies have not accepted defeat and continue to argue that trans individuals are, pre-transition, whatever they say they are (though they might spice up the argument by claiming they should be treated as such for "medical reasons"). As they are still vulnerable to the meme counter-examples, the counter-examples continue to see use.
2. The counter-examples are useful for attacking strawmen, which remains a popular pastime for the intellectually lazy.

IMO it's a fairly minor obstacle for trans acceptance in the big picture. More concerning is the paranoid hostility and hysteria displayed by trans activsts, who are representing this community and may be many people's first encounter with trans issues.

These people have always been around, they were just known by a different label back then. Trans-species is literally the next evolution of furry/otherkin. Yes, people will use the label as a reason why you shouldn't judge them for practicing bestiality. People go to extremes to create their excuses these days. I don't hate them, but they really need to be intellectually honest with themselves before they get into serious trouble.

Being trans isn't a delusion, there is a lot of evidence to show that trans people have brains somewhere in between their biological sex and their preferred sex. There isn't any evidence that a wolfkin has a brain like a wolf, and in fact there's plenty against it given the fact that a "wolfkin" is just as able to understand exclusively human concepts like language or culture as any other human.

We have a group of (cishet) people who have no idea what gender dysphoria or transsexuality is, and sincerely think that gender is some sort of fashion accessory you can just switch out like a pair of socks, or that their "unique" lifestyle/fashion choice is a legit new gender.

We have the autistic part of the previous group, who think they are animals 'n shit.

Lastly we have a group who drop their own cis straight and/or white identity in order to unify 2 conflicting worldviews, namely the inherent evilness of cishet white people, and their own (perceived) innate goodness while being a cishet white.
Instead of changing their worldview, they change themselves which is why they can react so violently when you deny their identity.
Their "stable" worldview depends on it.
