I have a question anons

I've been transitioning for..well, years now, and I pretty much assumed I'd be forever a hon and was resigned to my fate. I tried to dress sort of unisex, slowly grew my hair out, and all that, don't let it be said I didn't try, right?
But lately people started to "misgender" me a lot. Calling me miss and all that. And I always feel super conflicted because on the one hand I'm overjoyed, on the other hand how do you even tell someone that "Umm, I appreciate it, you're very nice, but I'm still in boymode?" so I usually just went with it, and didn't correct people.

Anyway. I think this might be a sign that I might not be a total hon. Frankly, it scares the shit out of me. How do you make that jump from "wait, is that thing a boy or a girl" to being a woman? I kinda wanted it to be gradual, because my family is really transphobic, and it's very likely I'll get kicked out if they find out the truth.
Also I'm terrified because what if I dress up in women's clothes and 5 out of 10 people think i'm just a dude in a skirt?! I'd die of embarrassment. I guess what I'm trying to say is; how do you know you're ready?
