I'm a cis male and am usually gendered as such. Either
1. people are gendering you but you don't notice; or
2. you live in a place where people don't use gendered words as frequently.

Why? OP here and I'm glad there's a way to figure out how strangers are gendering me, I've just realized it can be confusing sometimes since ma'am/man sound so similar.

Cis male here. Usually younger people say man. I've never had someone above 35 address me as man.
