Okay my dude. Let me take you down a quick history trip in plumbing.

For decades and decades copper water lines have been soldered together. Anything 2" and about is typically brazed. Certain other stuff like med gas and T-Drill fittings are also brazed.

But I digress. The primary problem with soldering in construction plumbing is that it takes time. You have to put in a few fittings, make sure it's all straight and square and looks good. Then you sweat it. Takes time.

Propress you put it all together, but then zip zip zip it crimps together these special fittings for ProPress, most of which are made by Viega. The fittings are more expensive than regular sweat fittings. But the time savings are enormous. You can cut your time spent installing down by half.
