Where can I find a NIB Arsenal SLR107-34 (triangle folder) for sale if at all?

Or, can a triangle stock fit on a SAM7SF because that tube stock on them now is ugly as fuck.

Also about the SAM7s, can a bakelite grip fit on it with the special thumb selector or not?

Try forums. I got mine NIB and unfired off of arfcom.

No.

No.

Sorry, the AK market kind of fucking sucks right now.
>>
>>34975719
SLRs are no longer being imported and factory triangle folders haven't been imported on them in a number of years. You're going to have to find one secondhand.

>>34975816
>or should i just build it one piece at a time
And how are you going to go about doing that?
>>
>>34975816
WASR. Building yourself is definitely doable, but it's not like an AR where you can do it with $50 in tools and a free afternoon. Buying is definitely the fastest, easiest, and most inexpensive way to get an AK.

If you don't want a WASR I also suggest an OPAP (akfiles has one in good shape for $700 right now), SAR 1, or MAK90 with AKM furniture on it if you don't care about a threaded barrel, bayo lugs, or cleaning rod.

Yes, but it was for the first time with that AK because it was the only mag I could get to fit initially. I have no qualms about shooting it a little because it's already so beat up. But given its extremely rare status I don't plan on using it much more. The aluminum has clearly taken a lot of wear that you wouldn't see with steel lugs and feed lips.

Now the translucents I haven't even fully loaded because I'm afraid the pressure on the feed lips will crack them, lol.

>but it was for the first time with that AK
The meaning of this statement is that it was the first time I have ever used that mag to shoot with. And it was done with my AKM because it was the only mag my AKM would take.

Also I think the worn paint over the shiny aluminum looks really good.

Also it took me about 6 tries to upload that picture. 0.2Mbps average upload

>>34976356
You shouldn't have a hard time getting around $600 from someone who isn't very well versed in AKs
>>
>>34976334
I'd like shooting it a lot more if I wasn't stuck with the old Arsenal 2 stage. God this trigger is a disgrace. JBI didn't send my original trigger parts back so I'm stuck with it for now. He said he'd look for them for me but it doesn't sound too promising.

Other than that it shoots like an AKM. Very light weight compared to all my other AKs except of course my krink. And heats up to dangerous hot after a single mag of slow shooting. Definitely didn't get it as a shooter though.

>>34976392
Some guy had a matching set of either 4 or 6 mags, can't remember. They all had matching serial numbers of the AKM they were used to test on, as well as individual identification numbers. My mag is #1 of the set. It was a shame to break up the set but the guy wanted like $2500 for them all and nobody wanted to pony up. It's really cool to me because it makes me think my mag was actually used to test the viability of the prototype design.

Why do builders always fucking do that? Honestly, shouldn't have sent the FCG with the parts kit in the first place anyway.
>>
>>34976518
I mean it shouldn't be any hotter than your AKMS gets. Yesterday I zeroed my front sight and after a full mag with lots of breaks in between going to check my target and walking back and adjusting my sights, it was still hot to the touch.

>>34976535
He said he keeps them unless they say otherwise. Which I think is a pretty shitty practice because that's still my property. Hell even the demilled receiver stubs are my property. I sent it with it because I wanted to make sure he had all the trigger pins and the hammer spring and shit and I couldn't be bothered to take them out of the package. Guess I learned my lesson.

>>
>>34976627
Could be the polish laminate handles heat better ? How does the gassing feel on yours?
>>
>>34976656
Nah I'm not talking about the wood, I'm talking about the temp of the barrel, which shouldn't be affected greatly by the handguards or the gas port size. Mine feels slightly overgassed but the gas port was already drilled on the Romanian barrel so that's not on JBI. Unless he opened up the gas port for some retarded reason.

I would replace the spring with one of my high strength springs but no more than I'll shoot this one, I'd rather just keep it original.

>Well "U" indicates it's a short barrel, which it isn't. Really this isn't anything.
>Well ya, that's why I said it's not really anything. But verbage wise it'd be more AKS-74 since it's a side folding (S) 5.45 (74) Kalashnikov (AK) = AKS-74, even though that isn't a proper name for it.

about the same, what happens is the bolt pushes the round in the chamber, but the rim rides underneath the bolt, stopping it halfway

>>

sounds like a problem with the feed angle.

try swapping followers between working and non-working mags if you can and see what happens. the circle 10 followers should fit in bakes and vise versa. also try holding the mags tilted forward in the rifle and see if it improves feeding

failing that you would have to modify/change the bullet guide, but i wouldn't recommend it

I've been doing some research on the AKT hammer and while re-profiling it does help a bit, its the fact that the AKT hammer is a hard mother fucker compared to the tail that causes the majority of the deformation.

I had an opportunity to kill a man the other day and get away with it.
>Shooting WASR at the outdoor range way out in the sticks, I'm the only one there on a weekday morning
>run through a couple mags, having fun blasting stuff
>another car pulls up, think it's a second shooter coming to blast his gats
>old guy gets out of the car with a walking stick
>greet him, he asks if I can go cold for a minute, he wants to hike perpendicular to the range and the only way to get to the path is crossing the actual range to go down a wooded pathway
>tell him that's fine and clear the AK, start loading mags
>he just walks down this trail with his back to me for a solid few minutes at a slow pace
>think to myself how easily I could have popped a mag in and popped off a few rounds center mass, then made a quick exit
>don't do it and keep loading mags until he's out of sight
>nobody else shows up for two hours, he comes back down the trail right as I'm getting in my car to leave
so /akg/, why is my WASR eating casings like this?

I haven't bought 30-06 online ever but once my surplus M2 ball is gone I'm sure I'll start, but at the rate I shoot 30-06 300 rounds will last at least another year or two

>>
>>34981334
They really aren't. At best the 104 is an accurate copy of the AKS-74N and the rest of their AKs are their take on the AK-100 series but using the AKS-74 as a base gun instead of an AK-74M like the Russians. Example, my SLR-107 is basically a AKS-74 but chambered in 7.62x39. An AK-103 is an AK-74M with some slightly different parts chambered in 7.62x39.

>>

All those surplus steel mags are copies of the Soviet pattern. There's no practical difference between a Romanian, Polish, Bulgarian, or East German steel magazine except the price some Jew on the internet is going to charge you because East Germans and Bulgarians don't have the reputation of being filthy gypsy's like Romanians do.
>>
>>34981631
Are the east German mags worth the price? I've heard these are some of if not the best steel ak mags ever produced.

They'll all work just fine. Get the E. German mag if you want one. If you have a MPi-KM rifle you want to have a correct mag or something like that. For shooters, just get the $11 Romy or Polish mags. Idk, maybe there's something I'm missing about the E German mags, but that's my opinion.
>>34981674
Other than an SGL31-94, getting a custom receiver made, finding a good Bulgarian CHF 5.45 barrel, paying the premium for proper 74M demilled parts, and having it sent off to be assembled. It'll be more expensive than the SGL31-94 by a long shot, but it will also be a 100% accurate AK-74M clone if you get the right parts.
>>
>>34981653
No, all Eastern European stamped steel mags are more or less the same with a few exceptions. There's no reason to not buy $12 Polish or $12 Romanian steel mags unless you're specifically after the mags of other countries for collecting or to match a rifle

>>34981674
There isn't any outside of sourcing parts and having something built. SGL31-94s were the closest we've had in the US and even those aren't 100% correct 74m clones

It's fine with the QRP2's spacer removed. I'd like it a little lower but the PRO is destined for another rifle and I'm not going to spend money on a mount just for this setup. I'm going to order an extended rail whenever I decide which aimpoint is going to live on my AUG for good.

From what I've heard about the extended rail, it's basically the same height as an AR15's pic rail, so you've got a whole world of mounting options to choose from. I'd probably leave the spacer in on an extended rail for that reason.

5.45 is on its way out, once russian ammo is banned that will be the kill shot.

you can even buy a factory made rifle in 5.45 anymore, the slr104 was discontinued by arsenal due to low demand, 5.45 isn't worth their time.
>>
>>34982703
Shit tier companies still seem to be making/selling 5.45s.
>>
>>34982703
Sure we buy 5.45 by the case, but we're at best a few dozen autists. The Czech military bought more 7.92x33 during the latter half of the Cold War than we'll ever buy in 5.45. It's only still in production because the Russians and Ukies use it.

guy who bought the 5 grade 2 romanian x39 mags the other day here

originally none of them fit my wasr at all, they'd all go in and feed perfectly but refused to come out without smacking the mag disconnect with a mallet

I systematically took a file to all of them and now they're possible to disconnect with just the support thumb. Almost all of them have a slight wobble, some more than others but I'm willing to toss out the worst 1-3 of them depending on how they preform at the range

thanks for the tips on how to loosen them up
>>
>>34982829
The answer is that they've retooled all of their active production lines that we know of to fulfilling military contracts for 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 models of rifles for Iraq, Jordan (possibly), a shit ton of African countries, and a few gulf states.

>I don't see why arsenal can't make a 5.45 brother to the 107R

They actually did at one point. The slr-105 was discontinued and they started pumping out the 104 series to replace it.

>>34982729
>the slr104 was discontinued by arsenal due to low demand

They discontinued the 104 so they could use those machines to turn out even more 7.62x39 rifles that are being funneled into the middle east. Bulgaria is a relatively poor country and there is basically zero EU interference in the flow of arms to these conflict zones, at least for now. Demand had very little to do with it compared to the assloads of CIAbux they're receiving from the region.
