I think Tula models from 1954 and onward have chrome-lined barrels. I would look for that. Also, get a laminated stock if you can. I made the mistake of getting a hardwood stock and the smell was horrible. I had to finish it in tung oil and shellac to make it go away.

I stopped going to Silverdale when they put the baffles up (I know they had to). I literally cannot shoot my AR with a bi-pod and scope on the 100m/200m range there anymore because of them.
