>>
>>34839836
So the YouTube consensus is that three point sucks once you start using it over gear. Try yours out and see how it goes.
I used one for a while when I was issued an m16. I ended up using it as a 2 point for that very reason, but your experience should be your guide.

I bought my skwo suit from them but everything else I source from private individuals now, I am getting into the "oldgen" thing alot.
Some of grey-shop prices seem fair and they have a decent selection, but look around (ebay and other stores) first because some things you might be able to get cheaper.

Also Flecktarn sucks for this area, and getting it here it is not worth the price desu. Sellers here overcharge alot, and if you are importing may as well save up a lil bit more and get something newgen in a better patterb,

It's much better to use NV for movement and land nav and to have an IR laser for shooty shooty bang bang because part of having NV is having a distinct advantage, being not moving around with a light giving away your every position.
>>
>>34840980
>Mind explaining?
You have to shoulder the rifle and look through it to navigate around in the dark. If that optic has magnification then its even more obnoxious. Clip on systems also suffer tube burn in eventually.

It only makes sense when augmented with a head mounted vision system

All right you little shits have been on at me to show my gear.

Most of it is as issued unless otherwise stated
Helmet
> Mk7. with NVG strap mount (its non standard like PAGST) cats eyes, Scrim and a surefire HL1 helmet light
Eyeswear
> ESS ICE, we get issued 3 tinted visors for it, its alright
Plate Carrier
> Osprey MK IV. Plates are oversized but i don't wear side plates.
Holster on plate carrier
> Serpa, its either this or a shit cloth soft carrier
Headset / comms
> Bowman headset plugged into a PRR
Sheath knife
> private purchase - RUI essex £60, pretty good, titanium powder coated, hold its sharpness well. Attached using para cord. I turned the mounting clip inside out, and tightened the para-cord to aid retention. Really I bought it because i live in essex county.
Admin pouch
> Standard issue for NCOs and Officers, I keep my lighter, a folding knife, my multitool, some pens and notepad in there. Inside the pouch i keep my MS2000 Strobe
Patches
> Hazard 4 Glow in the dark UK patch to look ally in the dark
> As issued "NKA" - No Known allergies. They don't have "No squid or mushrooms"
> No TRF or Rank slides - have that on my UBACS/ Shirt pannel. I only put them on there when I'm rocking just a tee-Shirt
M57 Clacker?
> Do quite a bit of explosive entry
Standard issue medical scissors
> In a Warrior Scissor pouch £8.22 with a military discount from Uktactical.com
belt Kit
> standard as issued Molle belt
> Marauder m4 pouches (not seen) - basically original Mk1 osprey pouches but in MTP - £14 each bought these from militarykit.com I like these as they have a spanish buckle (2 of them here hold 2 each or 3 in a pinch)
> 2 standard single stack bungies
Medical kit
> As issued
utility pouch
> Warrior large utility pouch, £16.46 with discount, fits a 200rd minimi box perfectly
Bayonet
> L3A1 with wire cutting and sharpening sheath, this particular bayonet is shit, i have a better one hiding somewhere.

Pouch
> Standard utility pouch, I keep some additional water in there in an aftermarket 58 pattern bottle that the entire regiment dished out to have. Its a crusader cooking system allows you to heat up the bottle straight of a hexi rather than pull out your mess tin and pour water
Gloves
> 2 pairs
> Mechanix Fast fit coverts, £12 from the NAAFI, i prefer these for driving and night work
> Magpul ranchers, £50 import. £20 for me as i got a friend discount. I like these the trigger fingers are laced with something that allows you to use touchscreens and touchpads
Boots
> HAIX High liability Combats. Fucking heavy, but will protect your feet from toe poppers, this pair is my second pair that i keep for field use, the others i use for inspection use. probably going to transition to something else, any suggestions
Kneepads
> Altas, £20 and a vast imptovement over the shitty neoprene issue ones, especially important since my knee injury
Can't see it in pic but - Drop leg dump pouch
> Issued EOD pouch molle thing with another marauder pouch on
Trousers
> Standard issue
Blast nappy
> I love my balls and dick - so does my wife i'd like to keep them. Standard issue L3A soft. takes a while to get to.

Either an '80 or LMTSS, depends on what we're doing. Sidearms we have Sig 226s and Glawk 17s and 19s. Minimi box either has linked of loose rounds in just as a communal piece in case we run out

For SHTF and away from barracks?
Shit i don't know, depends. Any sort of gun here put you 500 years ahead of everyone else with knives taped to broomhandles and gardening equipment.

Statistically speaking the british army has more front line staff as a percentage than most others.

I think 60% of all soldiers are actually infantry with another 20% in armoured and air units.

Very high in comparison with most other armies. Advantages of having a small army and localising supply chains.

Radway green ammo is pretty good, They can get it for as little as 20 cent on the round

They absolutely can (pardon the pun), no need to submit tax stamps because you're putting it on a different gun.

Maybe some tactical stuff, but no more than like 4 mags max. I was looking at the D3CRs, which seem to be pretty nice, but they're a little too pricey for me.

If it were up to me i'd have Warrior plate carriers though.

I got a warrior covert, its Ok 8/10.

I'd definitely recommend investing in some shoulder pads if you plan on using anything other than soft armour.

Its not so covert when you have NIJ IV, soft armour and a spall bag.

Yeah i was going to go for FC slickster, but i couldn't find a black one in stock, luckily warrior came out with theirs the same week i bought mine.

Honestly can't give you the lowdown on the slickster though, But the covert is about 60% of the price.

Warrior or another company does an accompanying rig for it though.

I'm looking for a chest rig to hold 3 AR mags, 4 1911 mags, and 2 full size handguns. If it can also support a belt, that'd be nice.
I'll have the Victory and its mags on the belt using Tandemkross Quick Grips, along with some speed loader pouches unless I can find molle pouches.
This is just for use at a private range, so I don't have to walk back and forth from the tables and firing line often. Preferably low cost - even considering getting Condor rigs as long as they work.
>>
>>34852869
From time to time, yes. They will retain them but you need to use the adjustment slides if you want them super tight

I think people obsess over camo a little too much. Unless you are in red tiger stripe in the desert you are probably going to be fine since motion, gunfire, thermal and IR signatures are far more obvious than woodland vs tigerstripe.

The Combat pants have stretch zones and external kneepads that can be adjusted to the exact location of your knee, but tend to snag on things and pop loose, while the Fields are less expensive and have internal kneepads that aren't adjustable but are better for literal innawoodsing.
There are other, minor differences, but those are the really obvious ones.

3 Days is as little as 30 liters or as much as 60 depending on how you backpack.

A Khard 60 would be reasonable as A2 recommended. If budget is no problem then definitely get a pack that takes some inspiration from the civilian world of backpacking. Your back will thank you.

Eberlestock packs actually are heavier packs for the most part.

>>34854916
