The "paper clip" retention spring was working along side the under sized trigger pin and was causing the pin to knurl the receiver

So I took it to my favorite gun store and they installed a retention plate and a new pin for the trigger

He also says rolls of it are like $1-2 in stores and you can get them in any shop on the Pakistan/Afghan border.

a good few of the truly correct mk12 parts aren't in production anymore, and the stuff that replaced it isn't quite the same. Even if you used the same new production parts you could build it for less. The two major ones off the top of my head are the PRI flip up FSB and the swan sleeve

Also mk12s are retardedly front heavy, I wouldn't really recommend it unless you enjoy bench shooting a lot. The SPR barrel alone is 2.5lbs
