Because SBRs are primarily short distance, and so you want the optic setup to primarily be focused on short distance, hence the red dot.

They are used in long engagement distances in a pinch, so you can sacrifice long range optic performance (magnifiers are far less than ideal for long distance engagement).

A 1-4 will excel at long distance, and be poorer at 1x short distance than a dedicated red dot. It is more at home on a carbine or SPR that is primarily mid/long distance purposed, but that might be used at short ranges in a pinch.

So I've gone from wanting to upgrade some stuff on my M&P like a logical adult and now want to just build a meme pistol, be enablers for me /arg/.

Basic idea for parts is a 11.5 BA barrel, one of those $70 toolcraft bcg's, aero lower (maybe upper too), shockwave blade, free float maybe. Not planning on doing it soon, but just curious what people would use for budget barrels and bcg's. Would an blem ALG defense rail be any good?

And destroying the A2 FSB would be retarded. It's by far the most secure and robust gas block and front sight available for ars. Under magnification they ghost out so it's not a problem for the ACOG.

Going back to irons for a while, should I go with some nicer fixed like DD/LMT/Scalarworks or snag some KAC 600/BOBRO/Magpul pro/LMT flippy irons? I have KAC offsets for use with optics already, and some TROY fixed irons that came with my upper, but I don't care for the Troy irons.

My father died some 5 years ago and last week I was contacted by his wife, who conjures every image of the word "wicked stepmother". Tells me she is selling the house and needs me to sign off on the sale for some legal technicality. The explanations were short, inconsistent and left me suspicious, she offered me 2k to sign as compensation from me paying for his funeral expenses. Fast forward to the lawyers office today who tells me I own half of the house because of a stipulation in the will. Im ecstatic. I wont gonibto complete details but if the sale proceeds Im owed far more than 2k. What I find more satisfying is the absolute karmitic justice the universe has handed me on a silver platter.

Plus tonight Ive been invited to party with friends and family of the Marines killed in the recent C130 accident. Today is truly a red letter day.
