I like it. It has added some noticeable weight to my rifle when I had a puny red dot but I enjoy the reticle. I am trying to get it zeroed and 100% dead reckoning but wind and lack of targets is bending me over a mini fridge. I think I got it roughly dialed in but it is still a work in progress pending amazon shipments.

Private range, so I need something portable. I got some metal do hickies that can slide onto a 2x4 and made an instant steel target fiesta. Need much heavier targets out in the great plains because of gofuckyourself 45mph winds on the regular flip floppy my paper targets all around. That webm you saw was about 30 seconds before that target became an involuntary kite and flew off past the horizon.

Way ahead of you. I made one for zeroing in. I got steel for general fun after I got the more accurate work done. Even filled the bottom with river rock pebbles to keep that son of a whore flat. We are talking winds that can prevent car doors from opening out here. It is misery with standard targets. My stand is 10lbs+ with double brace reinforced furring bracket. Just have to wait a few more days for steel to arrive.

Man, I love it. I don't know how it would completely compare to the Tacoma I was shopping for but I know its got better gas mileage and more power. This little 3.6l will smoke my old 5.4l on its best day. I'm filling the tank every 2.5 weeks now instead of every ~1.2 weeks and my route is the same. Plenty of room under the back seat for a complete medical kit, rifle, ECWCS set, and a bag of tools. Bad ass sound system with blue tooth and all that bullshit.

I just want to get a bull bar, HAM and CB installed and I'll be set.

So I got a DPMS AP4 (M4 clone) and i want to get a full rail on the shit but i dont want to dish out the money for another gas block and also there is the fucking pin holes forever in mt damn barrel and i just want them to be used so I want to cut the triangle front sight down to make into an impromtu low profile gas block like in the pic. Much nicer glass, more rugged, excellent reticle, and the eyebox is gigantic even in 6x. The dot makes it fast as fuck, especially in 1x. The price is much higher, however, and it isn't a lightweight.

As for why a pistol, I'm in IL and you have ot jump through hoops to get an SBR and I don't feel like fucking with it presently. The Maxim PDW brace I'm getting is comfy to shoulder and reduces OAL nicely, so I don't mind the mild compromise.

That's a Warcomp, it's midly different, but you'd better believe the CT looks EXACTLY like an extended A2. It's frankly embarrassing that nocans on /k/ pay this much for a literal A2. No, I don't use a brake on my 18". In fact I don't use a brake on my 12" either because they are SO incredibly obnoxious that even the rare possibility of shooting without the silencer is enough for me to have installed a FH.

But it's still smarter to use a brake to preserve the blast baffle.

Dead Air's brake has blast diffuser ports on the side which, to my ears, significantly reduce the oppressive blast of the brake, at least on 20"+ .308s. On my 16" .308 I use a FH because I shoot it mostly without silencing can.

Also, the A2 gives you the best performance in the shortest package for a 16" barrel that I can think of. My first build was a 16" with a 249F on it and it way way too fucklong. Eventually I took off the 249F and put an A2 on there.

Mine is a 10.5" barrel, and something around that is probably going to be ideal. You'll want a dedicated pistol lower, as the ATF likes this thing called constructive intent. Do some googling on that. Also, I think if it was once built as a rifle it cannot be converted to a pistol, but a pistol can be converted to a rifle. Google that to make sure. Plenty of AR15 pistol guides online in any case.

Battlewerx screws and sealing plate came in. Sealing plate seems good. Good customer service on Battlewerx's part. They upgraded my original order of a stainless plate to a black ano plate free of charge. Screws do not thread into slide as expected.

It has been a whole business week and Adams Arms still hasn't sent me a shipping label yet for the warranty return.

No, I don't like the MOS, optics are needlessly high up because of that dumb stupidly thick adapter plate. They should mount directly to the slide, as low as possible. S&W did it better with the CORE years ago by drilling multiple hole patterns into the slide itself, accompanied by very thin optic-specific sealing plates.
