Thanks senpai. All 3 will probably serve me well enough to varying degrees from the looks of things, expecting a GQ mag review of the 601 now tho.

I should mention though, you dont really need glonass or galieo, vs just GPS alone. its nice to have all three, but not really needed. Ive used GPS support only devices OCONUS and theyve worked fine desu. To your orginal thing, id suggest the etrex if your outdoorsin a lot. But if your larping or tactical gq id get the 401.

I loves me classic land nav. I saw a kit in a recent gq with the protractor and all and just wanted to say that if you are using a protractor, the old habit of running a string (550 gut works gud) in the very center helps make it usable in the fly. And having plastic page protectors helps both water proof and let's you write on your map without worry. You can even take permanent markers to page protectors to pre-mark things and then make marks to line them up so oh can just slip the map in and instantly have all your important stuff already marked.

Also compasses are dummy corded in my stuff because imma klutz.

Ah, yes map overlays. If I get around to it, ill post some of mine, just need to OPSEC them. But very useful. Great tip. I usually only used map overlays for writing orders/giving command patrols etc. Usually I just use the erasable map pens, in a bunch of colors, to use on a laminated map.

And as far as the protector with cord, yeah the circle ones, usually come with one. But personally I like the square ones, I do use 550 cord to gauge distance of roads and such.

I like the square ones too.

Using the page protectors to premark stuff is a bit more old school as stuff in .mil moved to GPS + having printed up sheets with stuff marked, but individuals are best served knowing all methods.

I've also got some DIY ranger beads made for like $1.50. They work ok, but only on flat ground IMO. Once you start climbing hills, trying to do pacecount math on the fly is just frustration. Reverse location using landmarks is great. Triangulation is accurate but you can also get by on ranging using even a single landmark. This brings optics with range marks into use and can be suuuuper handy.

>>34669494
Yeah haha I guess I learned the old way. I never really fucked with the beads, id just make marks on my hand. Far less professional haha. But oh well. Anyway to those wondering what a map overall is, this is a patrol overall, with a map overlay in it. You line up the cross hairs onto the map and there you go. But obviously this includes all sorts of info, like checkpoints, code words, radio freq, pre-planned targets etc.

You can google various different links for different applications. Selfish crayon eater plug to looking up Marine Corps pubs of Land Nav. You'll find them just googling that. Also earth-info.nga(dot)mil does a good job of having resources and information for more indepth explanations.

It kinda depends what kinda methods you want to learn, but ultimately land nav is a "use it or lose it" kinda thing. So if I were you as autistic as it is, geocache sites are great to practice. They are interesting, and basically offer what a .mil course would offer. Which is a box or ammo can sized object at the objective to let you know you've made the correct position.

6b47, 6sh112/6/7 line, 122 suits, how is this not streamlined? the extra uniforms were because its a 40 hour operation and bringing one uniform is retardation. You are criticizing from a point of ignorance, please do some research, larp a little and get back to me.

it is not. headgear is different, uniforms are different, not sure about body armors since the pictures you posted are ant-size, but that's not streamlined period.
these are the details that make a difference between a bunch of dudes that vaguely look alike (which is what you're doing) and proper group impressions.

>>
>>34677825
What do you think a standard is? Colt is still the ar standard but you wouldn't call it high tier.

Ten years from now when new gear companies are making new breaking edge gear, that guys little sister is gonna try to tell people that crye is garbage for poorfags.
>>
>>34677877
>What do you think a standard is?
Eagle, LBT, etc.

Big box milspec shit. AWS and TT are just clones of those items for the most part, they arent bad its just like saying the kirkland brand is the standard compared to the brand they are white-labeling

Also TT products do not strike me as well made, I blew a hole in one of their dump pouches with a tiny explosion
>>
>>34677917
>tt
>clone

They may have a couple clone-ish products, but the vast majority of their gear is the same stuff that they originally designed 15 years ago that real "operators" bought to replace their shit mil gear.

And wasn't it a fight light pouch that you blew a hole in? Besides, it's an explosion contained in nylon. It's not like the stitching was shit, it's all made of the same stuff that %99.9 of all other gear manufacturers use. I've never used any tt gear that didn't seem or feel just as well built as the majority of more expensive stuff I've played with.

>>34677696
Garbage is a rather strong exaggeration. I have several Tactical Tailor pouches and they are decent. The old stuff is kinda stiff, overbuilt, and outdated in terms of functional form, but the fight light stuff is downright good.

>>34677800
>Tactical Tailor and AWS is the standard
I've owned both and this is simply false. They are good, decent mid level gear, but they are certainly not innovative or top tier by any stretch.

>>34677838
Battle belt and a chest rig of your choosing.

>>34677917
You did not "blow a hole" the burning fuse of that M80 melted a hole. Fuses burn hot. No more M80s in dump pouch pls.

>>34678009
It didn't blow a hole. The fuse melted a small hole. And it was a 500D fight light pouch.

TT is good to go, but don't consider it top of the line. Their biggest failing is being outdated.

>>34678456
I had an AWS carrier. Definitely a good carrier. Inspired lots of confidence regarding durability, but it was overbuilt and the 6094 is outdated anyway.

I like my new swift clip compatible LWPC much more, but I wish it had rear molle and a rear drag strap. Oh well.

>>34678759
5.11 is bad value IMO. Quality is on par with Blackhawk, Condor, Rothco, and Tru-Spec. Maybe a little bit better than those brands, but it is a whole lot more expensive. Ergo my claim of it being bad value.

I think that most honestly think they are doing a service to society. Terribly ironic and rather retardedly inconsistent considering attitudes towards the 2nd amendment as held and espoused by themselves and most individuals interested in plates.

"SKD treats all sales of Body Armor with caution, discretion and a sense of civic duty and responsibility. While we recognize and embrace the rights of law-abiding citizens to be able to protect themselves, we also understand that Body Armor can be used to further unlawful acts. As law-abiding members of our society, we trust that you will also find it prudent that we require reasonable assurances that the right people have access to these products, while the wrong people do not. I've been using PLCE for awhile and I love it. But I recently got promoted and moved to a new job where I have to also carry a pistol. I probably just suck at Google, so I couldn't find how to do that with the PLCE set up i have, unless I go for a drop leg which I'd rather not do.

I'm pretty sure the LVAC is made for you to wear gear completely over it, like an FLC. Not to attach gear to it.

I'm just guessing by the look of the LVAC though, it doesn't have any attachment points and it's designed for low profile wear under you gear/clothes.

Literally a plastic bag haha I mean its a little more durable than a normal one, but its nothing special. Batteries and the bic lighter, can get wet, its just easier if they don't. Ive heard good things about the firesleeve. You know I get a lot of people who question why a bic over a zippo, but the reality is a bic lighter has always worked better than a zippo for me. The only time that my bic's dont work is if they are out of fuel, or get completely submerged. And then they just need to dry out, and then they are fine. Usually Id just keep them in my pocket, and they would get wet all the time. Ive rarely had issues. And I was a heavy bic user. I just take the safety off so its easier to use with gloves and cold hands.

Swift clip compatible means that the front of the carrier has a velcro and side release buckles to attach a chest rig panel to. It allows you to have a single setup that you can use as just your chest rig, or on your carrier.

I am particular to swift clip, but it isn't necessarily for everyone. Few high end PC options:

Howdy, I'm about to buy some Cryes and I need some clarification; I was talking to CDK about crye materials and he mentioned something about the pant's knee stretch panels use a special kind of fabric. I can't remember the name of it, but I'm wondering if CDK is on here right now or if one of you know the name of it. The thing is I'm considering buying some repos from Roman, but idk if his G3 baselayer combat shirts use the same kind of fabric of Cryes G3s. CDK might have said something along the lines that Roman doesn't use that for his G3 combat shirts stretching material. CDK would have my answer, and I would at least know what I'm getting for my moneys worth. Thanks to anyone who might know what I'm talking about here
