everyone here automatically calls these all Valmets, why? It's like calling all ARs Armalites or all Mosin-Nagants Tulas.
>>
People only call Valmets Valmets you nigger.
>>
>>34592656
then why is every Rk (other than Rk 95TP/M92S) in every pic posted here immediately referred to as a Valmet by everyone?

>The development of a Finnish assault rifle began in the 1950s. Various foreign models were looked at, the Soviet AK-47 being the most important.[4] The first version was called the Rk 60. It was produced in 1960 at the Valmet factory in Tourula and was internally almost a copy of the AK-47. It featured a metallic buttstock, a plastic handguard and pistol grip but lacked the trigger guard (it was hoped that it would make firing this weapon easier in cold Finnish winter when soldiers wore warm mittens). The very first prototypes, closely modeled after Polish licence made AKs, had tinted birchwood stocks. After testing by the military, the Rk 60 was slightly modified (trigger guard was reinstated) and adopted as the 7.62 Rk 62.

Designed by Valmet, modified by Valmet, made by Valmet, and had derivatives of Valmet's military design sold as Valmet-branded civilian rifles. Why the hell wouldn't they be called Valmets?
AR, by the way, stands for Armalite Rifle, so in a sense, we do call them all Armalites.

because not every Rk in the existence was made by Valmet (Sako also made them, in fact most of the Rks I have handled (all except one were Rk 62s) have been made by Sako, as I said calling all Rks "Valmets" is like calling all Mosin-Nagants "Tulas" (Tula being the first factory to make them)

calling a firearm by the model name of the original design is still a bit different from calling it by the name of the manufacturer of the original, Mosin-Nagants are collectively called Mosins, nuggets or even nagants (for what ever misinformed reason), not Tulas, SVTs aren't called Tulas either even though Tula Arsenal was the sole manufacturer of them for months before the production at Izhevsk could start in late 1939.

>>
>>34593519
Yep and that's why people call them 'tula' mosins only when identifying their manufacturer. So calling it a 'sako' valmet wouldnt be correct.

It's just a miss-saying that has existed for the last 50 years. I wouldn't worry about it.
>>
>>34593538
>It's just a miss-saying that has existed for the last 50 years. I wouldn't worry about it.
it's just my autism as I live maybe a mile and a half from the Sako factory, plus when most of the Rks I have handled have been made by Sako & everyone refers to them as Valmets regardless, I have even been told rather condescendingly that Rks made by Sako would simply be ones made in the Valmet's factory after the two companies merged in 1986...
>>
>>34593256
Then what accounts for tests showing wolf to be consistently under loaded, hence why it's cheaper?

i used to be a pipefitter. essentially the same thing if the bore size was 8 inches

now maybe im retarded but, if you make the hole bigger wouldnt that increase the pressure coming out the ejection port. im assuming its suppressed cause of the pic
>>
>>34594963
Overgassed without the suppressor too?
>>
>>34594983
yeah it is suppressed.

The idea is that you drill a small hole through the Gas Block, all the way down to the actual gas channel (not the barrel or gas port). Then, you thread the inside of the hole you drilled.

Then you screw in a set screw to the hole. Screw it all the way down for less gas, open it all the way up for full gas. Basically just a homemade adjustable AK gas block.
>>
>>34594983
Bigger hole = less pressure per square inch, but equates to a higher volume of gas moving through. With a hole that small the loss of pressure wouldn't even be noticeable though, so the net observable effecy would be a more violent discharge of gas in general
>>
>>34595014
yeah. It's not nearly as bad though. Feels like your average over the counter shitty AK. JBI made the gas port slightly too big I think.

But when I put the suppressor on, it's a whole other story. There's literally a small explosion coming out of the gas tube and bolt into my face. I'm convinced I'd damage the gun if I fired more than a couple dozen rounds, because the carrier is slamming back so hard.

the 107ur and 104ur come with a gas restrictor installed from the factory. This is because they're overgassed with the 16" legal barrel, so they put one in. The idea is that the customer removes it when their barrel gets chopped.

JBI, rather than carefully drilling a little bit of the restrictor at a time (shoot it, drill more, shoot again, drill, repeat) to get the rifle tuned perfectly, drilled out the whole thing.

Not the end of the world, just annoying. So I'm looking for a bandaid fix, cuz I sure don't have the skills to remove the FSB and partially weld up the port.
>>
>>34595099
All 107URs have a restrictor in the gas block, as do all 104URs after the 2014 AC serial prefix. Not sure about the 106UR, never handled one.

Idiots were bitching to Arsenal that their unchopped 16" barreled krinks were overgassed.

That's what I was considering doing with mine. By the looks of the restrictor it seems plausible to leave the outer ferrule portion and just drill out the middle. The port would end up something like .03" smaller

>>
>>34595182
>>34595153
Ok, I have a 104UR but mine was without a restrictor so I didn't know what the process for removing them was like. So you think JBI went overboard and over-bored your gas port. That's pretty shitty if true.

Keep in mind that the 107UR (without the can) will still have more recoil than a regular 7.62 AK because it's so lightweight. Krinks have very temperamental gas systems due to being so close to the end of the barrel so I'm not surprised that adding the suppressor makes such a big difference. I don't know if your idea for the adjustable gas block will work so I'm no help really. But good luck finding a solution.

That's what I would do. If you google around you'll find people who have done similar, and you can copy their port size. Honestly, it's not even that hard. The toughest part is pressing off the FSB.

If I can't figure out how to make my block adjustable, I think I'm gonna order a seperate carrier/piston assembly from K-VAR. And then drill the piston like pic related. When I wanna shoot suppressed, simply swap the carrier for the modified one.

That's a good point. Honestly I don't want to sound like a pussy, but whenever I shoot the gun a few hundred times in an afternoon, in the shower the next morning I notice a fairly large bruise on my shoulder. I'm sure that's partially due to the slavshit stock.

Is there some way I can determine if it is properly gassed? What is the ideal ejection pattern and distance for a bularian 7.62 ak with short gas system?

Reviews are nearly non-existent for Blackheart Firearms. I can only find people saying they are low quality and have bad customer service but they have absolutely nothing to back up those claims.

From what I have been able to find is that they are based out of WV and were started by an ex -special forces serviceman and they hire many vets.

None you fucking poorfag autist, buy proper mags instead of grafting a shit magwell design onto a functional rifle.

"The SLR-104FR rifle is a brand new Bulgarian stamped receiver rifle that is built from all original brand new factory parts and premium quality US made components, from its hammer forged chrome lined barrel to the original Bulgarian Arsenal mil-spec. stamped receiver."

The way you're reading that would also implying that the Bulgarian receiver is US made...
>>
>>34598261
Your reading comprehension is severely lacking
>>
>>34598270
The AR magwell is shit. It's the reason why the AR is easy to induce a malfunction with, whereas conversely, the AK is more reliable. AR mags are cheaper and shittier. AR mags are faster to change over an AK. But they are not better .
>>
Are the bayonet lugs and brakes on WASRs being phased out? Everywhere I look more and more places are selling WASRs without brakes or bayonet lugs or threaded barrels
>>
>>34597928
Better in every way? How so? Aren't spare parts and mags technically not as common?

WASR is shit. Don't listen to the memes and get an RAS47, they have threaded nuzzles and bayo lugs. Yeager tested the rifle and it's been proven good.
>>
>>34598261
Ignoring all of that, literally all of it, let's take a second to remember that nobody has ever mass produced cold hammer forged, chrome lined AK barrels in the US for Arsenal LV.

Trust me, the second someone starts hammer forging and chrome lining AK barrels in the US, you'll fucking know.

Right so time for me to get 100000000 "Nyet Rifle is fine!" from the general, but i have recently seen this stuff and i was wondering, has anyone here memepup'd their AKs? If so, was it worth it/did it work well. Doing this seems like evil sorcery to me but at the same time i find myself strangely fascinated by it.

So far it shoots fine, but I did find some rust leaking out from one of the rivets.

Can /akg/ recommend me a stock for my WASR-10? It currently has the sidefolder pictured, which is pretty uncomfortable/ugly.

I prefer the blacked out look but not much of a tacticool fag. Folding is a plus. Thoughts?

Im getting the magpul one. The rubber pad helps since I cant shoot ones with a hard back otherwise it'll break/damage my port. Also, Midway had some on clearance so i got it for $26 which isnt such a bad price.

>>
>>34599100
So? That's what we call rifles by you dense fucking giganigger. I guess we shouldn't be calling AK's AK's anymore either? Or Mosins Mosins even if the Chinese manufactured them or it wasn't a pattern directly designed and signed of on by Sergei himself?
>>
>>34599193
>zenitco is a military supplier
>wdhmbt
Bullpup AKs are also shit ergonomically anyways
>>
>>34599169
They placed my chemo port in a really bad place and I already busted one shooting my AR. It was most likely a shitty shooting stance/grip but the rubber padded ones displace enough of the force that it wont break if i accidentally do it again.

>>

Yea, Im not particularly excited about it but at $26 it'll do for now.
>>
>>34599206

The fact that I didn't even imply this and your use of meme arrows means I can just call you a fucking retard.
>>
>>34599316
>it's for military trials
>"zenitco doesn't supply anything to the military"
>u-ur dum
Ok. And nobody else wanted to buy it either, which is why they discontinued it
>>
>>34599196
Technically calling Mosins Mosins is incorrect as they're officially called Three Line Rifles.
>>
>>34599133
No you didn't. You're fine, rifle is fine. As far as I know that is the only case of an M74 KBing.
>>

>>
>>34598290

>>
>>34599358
I'm going to go ahead and assume that there's a great big disconnect and assume that you assumed that my post implied that the only thing Zenit does is supply the RU military with shit to test out.

Big grey area and your post is still retarded if you think it's black and white.
>>
>>34599555
I'm saying the military trials thing is dumb because all Zenit does is make stuff for market, they have no connection to the Russian military. I've also never seen anything about the Russian mil asking for bullpup AKs
>>
