1911 is more close to other 1911's
The 226 clones vary just slightly on slide fit and sight cuts IIRC.

1911's were designed first as single stacks and most are still single stacks.
Double stacks "2011's" are only common as race guns which most people would rather dump money into an STI than a Norinco.
>>
>>34329891
Doesn't even really need to be trigger locked, though it's usually a good idea to do so. Basically just put it in an appropriately sized cardboard box, fill the space with paper, packing peanuts, or whatever and tape the thing up.
>>
>>34329891
This >>34329962
Alot of people also zip tie the action open or the trigger back but its not required.
>>
>>34328834
I would suspect it's pretty decent. Call your recruiting office or go find someone in the CF and ask. Alternatively, go into the reserves as it will give you basic training, and an inside look at the organization. It also offers a relatively easy-out (compared to regular Forces) if you decide it's not for you. And almost automatic acceptance if you want to go full-time.

This province is not as free as some parts of Canada for firearms. You can get charged for having a firearm in the woods out of season under the wildlife act despite it being legal on a federal level. Failure to abide by the rules will get all your gear confiscated by wildlife if caught as well as a hefty fine. They can be real dicks.

As a non-resident wishing to hunt the best thing would be to call wildlife, general inquiries and further details can be discussed with them.

As for the gun among the group, there are some hoops to jump through.
>The person carrying the firearm must hold a PAL. If you are from another nation you can apply for a PAL with a letter of good standing from your local PD or sheriff.
>If you are hunting, the firearm and calibre must be suitable for your tags. The details are explained in the hunting and trapping guide available online.
>If you're not hunting you are required to obtain a special permit from wildlife to bring the firearm into the wilderness, I do not believe this costs money but be prepared to answer a few questions. This is particularly important if staying overnight.

Enjoy your trip, the Long Range mountains are beautiful.

If you go to Belleville you can buy guns at Canadian Tire. If you go to Barrie you buy guns at Canadian Tire.

If you get to Sudbury you can buy guns at Walmart. Walmart where I am at (45 mins west of Belleville) you can buy ammunition. Just some shotgun and rifle ammunition. No guns.

where the fuck can I get a replacement recoil spring for a TT-33?

looked into a couple of Canadian dealers that list as carrying TT-33 parts, like Tradex and even John the Ironclad, all have them as out of stock for over a year now, doesn't look like they care much to bring them in.
couple of Canadian dealers that carry Wolff springs for 1911, SKS and others, don't carry the TT-33 kit and don't plan on when asked.
where else can I look?
>>
>>34332904
Try this, it should be exempt from ITAR regulations

thanks, will check

I was thinking of trying to order the Wolff upgrade spring straight from Wolff, but not sure if the ITAR would apply to a coiled metal wire or not

If it is under $100 and is considered an accessory I don't believe it falls under ITAR. You can try and ask the seller if it does though and be upfront that you are a Canadian.

Anyone have any experience with scope mounts for the vz58? Do they hold zero? I'd like to mount a variable power scope
>>
>>34329523
>how far up north ontario do tires actually sell shit

They had ammo at Richmond Hill up until 2 years ago. They figured there was no market for it in this area.
>>
>>34334308
>Do they hold zero?
Side rail & scout front sight replacement yes.
Top cover and fore-end rail some are good some are bad

The problem with longer scopes is vz58's have a bad habit of beating the shit outta optics that get anywhere over the ejection port.

Best options for a long scope are side rail with DIY brass deflector (Unless someone makes one with a brass deflector now)
or fore-end mounted long eye relief scope.
>>
>>34334308
you probably won't have enough real estate to mount a variable power scope
>remember: where the dust-cover ends, the optic safe space ends
since VZ extracts nearly vertically, you can't have an optic protruding forward of the dust cover

New to handguns, is there a place that sells cheap .45, or is reloading basically the go-to option?
>>
>>34335248
If you have a Cabela's, bass pro, sail. They usually have Remington UMC which are usually pretty cheap (Not as cheap as reloading tho).

Places like Canada ammo or anywhere that offers free shipping is usually also not bad.

if you want it bone dry so you can re-lube it with your non-Chinese less toxic option -- break cleaner is your friend
>just make sure you're in a ventilated place so you don't huff it all up, but it's generally not very toxic anyway

make sure to re-oil the entire rifle, even a thin coat; the parkerized finish, like on 305 isn't really meant to be left bone dry, a tiny bit of oil will to a long way, as the finish basically retains it

Is there such a thing as a good scope mount for the M305?
Someone offered to trade a Vortex Crossfire 1-4x for my beat to shit Auto-5 and since I have more money than I know what to do with these days I figured that would be nice.

Thing is I already had a scope on my M305 at one point in the past and it was a disaster, but it's probably because I used a ProMag turd.
>>
>>34342688
CASM is the best but still not anything amazing. Fore end scout mounted optics fix most of the ejection hitting scope issues.

Really? I was looking at purchasing a CASM scope mount for my M305. Have a Vortex Optics StrikeFire II on it that was previously using a ProMag mount. The mount got knocked loose after about 30 rounds.
>>
>>34343132
Open top ejection just does not play well with optics not much more to say about it.

>The law amends the Criminal Code by adding "gender identity or expression" to the definition of "identifiable group" in section 318.[7][8] Section 318 makes it a criminal offence to advocate or promote genocide against members of an identifiable group, which now includes gender identity or gender expression. Since the definition of "identifiable group" is also used in s 319 of the Code, the amendment also makes it a criminal offence to incite or promote hatred because of gender identity or gender expression.[9]

They are brand new domestic productions, not Chinese leftovers.

NEA went through a whole lot of hell designing this rifle, and waiting a hell of a long time getting RCMP classification. It would be stupid of them to discontinue a potential moneymaker.

AR10's aren't restricted by name and due to the fact they predate the AR15 (which is named) are not covered by the wording of the law. The reason DPMS, SR25's pattern AR10s etc are restricted is because they are all supposedly based off of the SR25 which is simply an upscaled AR15 and therefore a "variant or modified version of" the AR15 and restricted because of it.
>>
>>34356003
I just feel bad to the people the instructor lied to, these people will not be getting their guns for 5-12 months IF they haven't checked any of the xs and it doesn't get lost

My understanding of non-res NEA102 is as follows:

Most modern production AR10's are actually up-scaled variants of the AR15, making them restricted.

However, NEA102 is based on the original AR10, which came before the AR15 and is not restricted.

Here's a handy-dandy chart for visual reference!

>>
>>34356063
it's design is based on some obscure dutch made AR10, forget its exact name, of which barely any exist possibly even zero in this country, yet they gave it NR status.

and so with than lineage, and I think some favourability for NEA being a canadian manufacturer with canadian jobs and tax revenue on the line, the horse gestapo generously gave their blessing.
>>
>>34356063
It likely is based on the original AR10 (you cannot slap an original AR10 upper on an SR25 pattern lower or vice versa) and avoids anything that makes it similar to SR25 style AR10s.

This part is all hearsay, but I've seen mention that the NEA was basically dead as a variant but due to some new blood in the Firearms branch who supposedly actually are shooters/like guns and therefore more willing to apply the law as written that the NEA got the classification that it deserved.

I have a question, hoping to dispel some possible fuddlore.

My coworker and I like to shoot and he's pretty fuddy, but he likes his milsurp. We brought our sks's out to the range last time, and he told me that an sks that has a 1 stamped on the front sight post is supposedly more accurate then ones stamped with anything from 2 to 5.

Any truth to that or is he fudding at me?
>>
>>34359963
Yes and no, such system were used at the time but I can't find any information it being used on the sks.

Most stampings you would find on sks front sights are just factory, staking marks, or accuracy proofs. The last of which is basically can it hit paper at x distance or not.

On other rifles, "select" rifles found to be more accurate and thusly good candidates for say a sniper program would have extra markings but usually these are on the barrel shank.

Slavs are very particular about their numerals, the use of Arabic numerals and their format, so they would never use single line "I" as 1. if for some reason it was a Roman numeral, which it couldn't be, but if it was, it would have the two lines above and below the "I"
>not doubting the accuracy of your 0.005lb trigger SKS, but that marking isn't a number
>>
>>34361489
Makes sense, its definitely far more accurate than my other sks's which lack such markings on the front sight

He's posted here before. He's been tripfagging longer than I have, but got turned off of it a while back when people REEEE'd when he tried. He's still around, though, just as an Anon. He was the Anon asking about the FNX-45 like 10 threads ago.

>>
>>34374360
How so? He's got the FAL, and my old T97 and RIA M5. I can get him to post, but you'll just think he's me.

Why do fags think 3006 is inferior to 308?
>costs the same
>3006 is about 500 joules more power at 180 grain
>>
>>34374803
Selection > muzzle energy
>>
>>34374823
Yes 308 has more selection but I never seen a lack of 3006 anywhere that sells ammo.

308 Fags think it is just as strong as 3006 and that the old 06 is outdated.
>>
>>34374851
>308 Fags think it is just as strong as 3006
wat
The case is like a half inch shorter, who the fuck would think that

>the old 06 is outdated.
It kind of is by certain standards

i like the idea that i can have something similar to an ak but the wood stock on that thing looks like a water slide, is it possible to get a squared up one that looks more like an AK?

same with the barrel, can you change the barrel to look not as .. long?
>>
>>34377932
those are the best AK proportions we'll get until the T81

Lots of people get custom ones done.

>can you change the barrel to look not as .. long?
Not really, some people move the front sight back and put on a fake suppressor shroud. (Pic semi related)

fixed or folding?

I'll put in a pre order as soon as they confirm manufacturing has begun
>>
>>34378140
I chose folding but honestly I'm having doubts pretty much every day.
I think I made the right choice purely for the novelty factor if anything.

I like the potential compactness of the folder but they couldn't have picked an uglier stock. I wish it was all metal and they didn't bother with the shitty wood on the folding stock. wish it looked something like this.

basically, muh aesthetics, so probably fixed for me.
>>
>>34378242
I kinda like it actually.
Looks much better than most of the AK folding stocks I've seen to date imo
