How legal would it be to EDC a sword? Leave practicality aside for a second and just assume you go about your daily business with a sword and scabbard.

Now, would it change the legality at all if the edge wasn't sharp?

This. Social Conservatives, along with Quebec farmers, fucked us all again.

Especially considering that the Grits are actually getting their ass in gear on some of their election promises. Though thankfully NOT guns (so far).

They've even had to admit that yes, most of Canada does hate C-51, because of that whole "government spying on me for no reason" shit.
>>
>>34100811
>>34101048
agree, so what's the way forward for the freedom/responsibility/prosperity minded, libertarian leaning people?
it seems that the format of the leadership vote, together with some backwards hicks, robbed the bulk of the voters of their first choice candidate, which was Max. The majority of the new right-leaning population is so in a more libertarian way, which is why Bernier was the front runner for most. If Cons can no longer represent the new face of a "concervative" voter, will that demand be filled by say an actual Libertarian party that was more than just a meme and instead a good contender for power?
>>
>all these faggots threatening to vote Lib/NDP in 2019 because Maxmeme didn't get elected leader of the CPC

It's not like he's leaving the party altogether, and if the ballots are anything to go by, he should still have a pretty prominent voice in the caucus.

>>
>>34101098
They're unlikely to split the party or anything. And I suppose the adult thing to do would be just to deal with it... But jesus does it ever fucking suck, never having a good fucking choice.

Because Bernier is basically the only Tory candidate for PM that I've considered supporting in a long time, specifically because he didn't want to fuck with anyone's rights, like political conservatives have a habit of doing. Leaving Liberals and NDP, neither of whom I like right now either, not to mention that they're generally not helpful when it comes to gun rights, even if they leave the others alone.

Can I just have a Prime Minister that loves guns, but also doesn't make me want to use them on him!?

About 100 cucks on the CCFR facebook page have been shilling about that since the results came in.

Scheer is not going to touch the abortion issue. He specifically said he doesn't want to open the debate.

I would have voted for fucking O'Leary over the commies in the NDP or the faggots in the Liberal party. I think Scheer is a decent guy with good values and an inclusive idea for the CPC. He has a chance.

>>
>>34102353
>I think Scheer is a decent guy with good values and an inclusive idea for the CPC. He has a chance.

And this is why I put him as my #2. I get that he isn't as charismatic as Bernier, and his stance on firearms isn't quite as hardline, but he's still infinitely better than any of the other choices aside from Maxime. I think people should give Scheer a chance, at the very least until he's had some time at the party's helm. It's absolutely ridiculous to try and call the election this soon.

Those things have a finite life, and if you're picking them out of packages, they're usually pretty close to done.

A better alternative would be to store them in a locker/safe/secure room/etc., and getting a moisture absorber. It's basically silica on steroids.

You can get them for $1.25 at the dollar store, and they last 3-5 months (their advertised lifespan is 3 months, but mine managed to last over 5 months). For less than $5, you're covered for the whole year.

As a Mossberg owner, take it from me:

Get a normal Mossberg. Don't buy the stupid FLEX system.

I admittedly bought the FLEX. Still a great shotgun, and it's a great idea on paper, but the interchangeable parts are hard to find, which defeats the purpose of a modular system.

Also, when you start fucking around with barrel swaps, you'll find that barrels are fucking expensive. It's actually more economical to just buy another shotgun (the price difference between a new barrel and a whole new shotgun is surprisingly negligible). You know what's faster than trying to Lego the fuck out of your shotgun for different configurations? Just grabbing a different shotgun from your safe.

I don't really understand where this whole anti-free speech rhetoric is coming from. Antifa is using their free speech to speak out against the right, then on the flip side you have the alt-right using their free speech in a similar manner, but I've never seen anyone outright say that free speech is bad. As far as I can tell, people are taking any kind of criticism/attack on their views as a threat to free speech.

>>34103767
Can't go wrong with the CZ75 or S&W, but it depends on your budget. If you're going to get a CZ75, make sure it's one of the SP-01 models, not the CZ75B Omega, since it has a super shitty trigger, and you can't find non-Omega 75Bs anymore, unless you can find one used. The SP-01 isn't much more expensive than the 75B as far as I can tell too.

The S&Ws are good too, the new M&P 2.0 is supposed to be great, and it's more affordable than the CZs. Don't get one of their SD9Vs or whatever they're called. They work, but it's basically a poor man's glock.

This is wrong. They're aggressively no platforming, shouting down, and rioting when those don't work. Suppressing speech is not the same as disagreeing with speech you don't like. Antifa is actually violent. Using violence against people who are speaking in a way you don't like is not supporting free speech.

You also have the issues with "anti islamophobia" and pronoun bills/motions/laws creeping into Canadian society. Telling me I have to call you Xir or face disciplinary action or that I'm not allowed to criticize islam is anti free speech.

So is the Alt-Right. There was that guy in Portland who participated in the "Free Speech" rallies or whatever that ended up murdering two people, and that white supremacist who tried to sue Trump because he thought Trump inspired him to assault some black person last year, then the guys who punched some Antifa chick in the face at another rally. I'm not saying Antifa is innocent, but the alt-right/free speech warriors/whatever aren't exactly perfect either.

>Telling me I have to call you Xir or face disciplinary action or that I'm not allowed to criticize islam is anti free speech.

But that's not a thing at all, that's just total fearmongering nonsense, even if it was proposed, I 100% guarantee it would never pass. Also, I'm fairly certain the whole "Xir" thing is just made up by people who don't like transgender folks, because I've known trans people, and I've never heard of this "Xir" thing until it was said by somebody here on 4chan complaining about transgender people or something.

>I don't really understand where this whole anti-free speech rhetoric is coming from.
Straight up using violence as a silencing tactic. They aren't just spouting rhetoric against their targets, they're straight up attempting to alter the law to silence anyone who dares utter a word counter what they deem to be morally right, and using violence and other intimidation tactics if that fails. From shutting down speeches being given (several instances at Berkeley, including preventing entrance from guests and the speakers themselves, to attacking attendees, to committing acts of vandalism in retaliation, to pulling fire alarms) to attacking protests and rallies until it's too dangerous and the police have to shut the entire thing down. Antifa, whatever they state as their goals, are far more fascistic in their actions and methods than any rightwing group in the West, particularly their brownshirt methods of silencing opposition.

Didn't that guy turn out to be a bernie bro? Anyway violence is antifa's SOP, a handful of jerkoffs on the right wing isn't really the same thing. They organize to shut down speech and speakers they don't like, and if you show up to support them they'll crack your fucking skull with a bike lock.

Theres many good reasons to have multiples of sks's, svts, nuggets. Main one is power, if you have 15 sks's and enough ammo for each, you can arm 15 people. 15 or more people with semiautomatic rifles could hold down a small size town if they know what theyre doing. Other reason is assets, the more guns you have the more assets you have, all your guns will hold their value and most will only increase in value, its basic politics and economics

So basically making it illegal to deny service to certain individuals based upon gender, as well as making it a criminal offence to spread "Hate propaganda" with regards to gender. I don't really see the issue. There are already laws that have been in place for years with the criminal code prohibiting "Hate propaganda", so it's not really anything new, they've just broadened it to cover more. Unless you planned on setting up a protest about how trans people should be gassed, I don't think you'll be in trouble.

Read the whole bill and then the Ontario Human Rights Commission that it explicitly says the bill is built around. Misgendering someone is an offense, and ones gender identity is as flimsy as how someone feels or chooses to present, like fucking clothing. It amounts to compelled speech. You don't get to tell me what I have to call you.

I have known trans people and I don't give a shit, and frankly they just seem to want to be He or She, just the one they weren't born as.

C16, M103 and the OHRC are what "all this anti free speech rhetoric" is about. I'm not going to debate all night whether it's an imminent threat or not, but stuff like that, and the active no platforming, violence and threat of violence in an organized manner from the left is the root of the concern many on the right have.

I don't really get why that's such a monumentally difficult task. If my friend wants me to call him a him a he instead of she or vice versa, it's of no burden to me to just respect them. Like you said, majority of trans people just want to be called the opposite of what they were born as. I don't really understand why that's so terrible.

There is something fundamentally wrong with homosexuals, you dunce. When you have a species that features sexual dimorphism, homosexuality is by definition abnormal.

Now, that doesn't mean societies ought to fire up the ovens. Homosexuals are not problematic per se, though in general they do tend to lean leftward and, being voters, that is a much bigger problem than their sexual preferences.

So I should probably mention Tok guy illegally concealed carried a handgun at the time because he used to be in the Canadian military or something.

seriously this

as long as they're not trying to tell you how to live your life and infringing on your freedoms, you don't get to tell them their business. the problem isn't with gays, trannies, furries and autistic otherkins -- the problem is with authoritarian cultural marxists who use them as tools to force everyone else into their frame of oppressors and oppressed, group identities and victimhood with power of the state as the only means of resolving all of those artificial grievances

literally problem solved, no need for bill C-16 or fucked up draconian compelled marxist speech laws, Ontario Social Justice Tribunals or the rest of it, since people who are adamant to not call the dude in a dress Jennifer, will not call him Jennifer no matter what you make the law (and probably have the opposite effect on those who weren't sure)

TL;DR: Jennifer isn't the problem, it's the fucking marxists who claim to speak for him

Because what the totally not Finnish guy said was that you can be charged for using the wrong pronoun, or "misgendering" someone, when there isn't a law on the books relating anywhere to that, and certainly is nothing in the Bill to that effect.

Fucking typical. Ya know, I wouldn't waste my time arguing about this shit, cause like I said over on /tg/ most liberals think "xir" is completely fucking retarded too, but so often the "proof" you guys wave around is something pulled right out of your ass. Just like in this case.

If you believe data created via conjecture, sure. Actual fags who claim to be gay and actually have gay sex are like 1%, but are still responsible for all of the AIDS outside of heroin and black people. Ever hear of bugchasing? While most gays aren't bugchasers, they're remarkable casual about HIV. The only kinds of AIDS activism they do is to destigmatize it. Why don't we destigmatize ebola? It's just a little bit of bleeding, man. Keep your viral load under control, don't worry.

Does it concern you at all that nearly half of gay men were sexually abused by a man when a boy?

What's the point of gay marriage when 1% of gays actually get married, and 1% of gay marriages last?

I'm not advocating to "ban teh gheyz", because that leads to tragedies like Alan Turing. My point is that this culture hurts people and provides nothing in return. There will always be gay people like there will always be drug addicts. That's no reason to glorify a destructive lifestyle. Society will eventually recognize this if freedom of speech and intellect are allowed to be practiced.

Giving gays the "right" to get married is retarded. The government should not be involved with marriage in the first place. Adding even more marriage for it to manage is a step in the wrong direction.

>I'm not advocating to "ban teh gheyz"
Yes, you're just advocating 'subtly discouraging' their existence. Based on assumptions that are proven to be false (ie: they only make up 0.5% of the population), or exaggerating to the hilt (HIV and other diseases). Particularly since the HIV problem was been growing among straight people, while has remained steady, or actually shrunk, among gays. One of the main reasons being stupid straight people who think they can't get "that gay disease".

>>34114634

What's that? You don't have an arguement?

Well yeah, we all knew that when you started whining about how gays were only 0.5% of the population, and used that 'fact' as a starting point for why they don't deserve equal rights under the law.

Hahaha, you don't know anything about how the law works in Canada, do you?

Federal courts routinely take provincial precedents. Bill C-16 was explicitly modeled after the Ontario Human Rights Code. Which means provincial court interpretation of that Code will be taken into strong consideration by courts ruling on the Human Rights Act.

Now fuck off back to your SJW hugbox.

Not that guy, but here is an actual lawyer talking about it:

https://litigationguy.wordpress.com/2016/12/24/bill-c-16-whats-the-big-deal/

>With respect to non-monetary orders the path to prison is considerably more straight-forward and generally as follows:

>Section 19 of the Statutory Powers Procedure Act (Ontario) (SPPA) states that an order of the OHRT is in fact an order of the Superior Court.

>Section 13 of the SPPA states that the OHRT can pursue a breach of its own orders by pursuing an order for contempt before the Divisional Court (Superior Court).

>Rule 60.11(5) of the Rules of Civil Procedure (Ontario) confirms that where the court finds a person in contempt, they can order imprisonment for an indefinite period, in addition to fines and other remedies. Further a judge can issue a warrant for the arrest of any person against whom a contempt order is sought.

>The Superior Court does resort to imprisonment to compel compliance with non-monetary orders. There are numerous cases where contempt of a non-monetary order resulted in imprisonment with many as recent as 2013.

>The same mechanisms and procedures can be found at the federal level and they have in fact resulted in the imprisonment of persons who breached the orders of Human Rights Tribunals in other provinces and federally.

You're just blaming everything on muh /pol/ boogeyman while selling your asshole out to be plowed by government dick. Stand up for your rights, you fucking cuck.
>>
>>34114620
1.7% and 0.5 are essentially the same. Retake high school if you don't understand why. I'd like to point out that I said 1%, the 0.5% was a different guy. HIV is growing among straight people due to more junkies and africans being here.

You misrepresent my argument when you say I want subtle discouragement against EAT DA POOPOO, I want it to be obvious. It's harmful and has no benefit to society or the members of the "gay community". Would you subtly discourage people from being junkies or africans, or would you be blatant? I don't see why being gay should be seen differently.

Scheer has already brought all the leadership candidates into the fold, he's aiming to be a coalition conservative, and with Troats and the likes getting as much as the vote as possible its a good idea to unify the so-cons, the libertarians, and the economic autist together. Scheer and Bernier's platforms were very similar and I can see him pushing for the airline deregulation among some of the better Bernier ideas he wasn't running on forward in one way or another
>>
>>34114638

The bill was specifically based on the OHRC reccomendations and guidelines. There's even a motion now to amend it to guarantee that free speech won't be trampled on to enforce the bill. Clearly there's a need for that amendment.

You can also face court action for being brought before the human rights committee. They have the authority to levy fines or "any other penalty they deem sufficient," and if you don't pay the fine, you can go to jail.

I don't really care if you think this is important or not. The only reason I brought it up is because you pretended there was no basis for people being worried about free speech. These are the reasons. Accept them or not.

Your insistence that I'm some other anon on this site full of thousands of fucking users is retarded. Stop misidentifying me you fucking bigot. I'm vi2 and if you don't address me as such I'll have you sent to a gulag.

the work and parts that have been added and done are.

archangel stock with bottom rail for bipod (originally tan)
rock solid industries scope mount
timney trigger with trigger shoe
custom bent bolt and knob (made by a guy in the states)
4 magazines, 3-10 round 1-5 round
tan matrix scope 3-9x50
1/2x28 muzzle brake.

the work that has been done to it,

I got the muzzle threaded and re crowned with a 1/2x28 thread, shortened the barrel 6-7" from what I remember from the shooting edge in Calgary
got the rear sight removed and welded to make a even contour of the barrel.

>Anon gets some frivolous charges against him, insurance sends their lawyer guy, need to save moneys so can't draw out the case. the lawyer guy tells you he cut a deal and you will walk but your PAL and all your funs are forfeit.
TL;DR: my suspicion is based on the fact they they're the ones paying for your lawyer when shit gets real, and their main focus isn't to get you off with an apology from the crown, but to make sure they don't lose much money on it

You get what you pay for, ie. They'll send someone just barely qualified, and if your case is too long/expensive, they'll try to talk you down to taking a lighter charge.

There's really no way to know until it happens I guess. Hopefully if it's something people want to get behind, like some mag issue that effects a lot of gun owners, you'd be able to raise funds through CGN, setting up a GoFundMe, etc, to pay the lawyer. I figure for $92 a year it's worth it just so I have a lawyer to get the ball rolling at all, it might be enough to get frivolous charges dropped.

If you dump an unpinned mag into your paperboy for violating the NAP you're probably gonna have to foot your own legal bills
