I put a WASR on layaway a few days back with intention on removing the crapco furniture that's on it and making a replica of an MPi-KM (not 100% accurate, more less a shooter styled after one).

Yes, the white line is on the FF itself, the notch is in front of it.
The reason I put the optic on my wasr instead of my AK74 is because my wasrs front sight is, and always has been, adjusted too far to the left (about two inches off at 50 yards). I've broken two front sight posts trying to adjust it. It's thoroughly locked into place so I just decided to go with the optic.

I'd say you need a bigger c-clamp, but the rub is if you go up in size the screw that moves (on the clamp) does too.
And the size clamp you'd need would be too big to fit on the FS drum.

No, it's stuck on there. AES wont work because there is a little mount for the cleaning rod between the FSB and the GB. The pintle won't clamp the barrel due to that.
Building an M72B1 right now because it's barrel has a good 10" of open space between the GB and FSB.

Chrome lining is to cover up imperfections in a barrel and stop rusting. If you cant clean your barrel and want a poorly manufactured barrel that requires chrome lining then go for it.

PARS Maadis are good, both PARS and Intrac/AAC Maadis are the go to ban era Egyptian built Maadis. $800 is not a bad price either, it's fair and not a deal or anything but not over priced. It looks nice in the pics, but it doesn't seem to have a threaded barrel (on phone so can't see it very well) which seems to be the only con on it for me. Obviously no bayonet lug but that's not a big deal to me. If I was in the market for one I'd have no issues paying $800 for that one

As far as underfolders go they're about as solid as they come. I prefer the lockup and stock angle of Yugos, and the NPAP-DFs are the only way to get a Zastava factory build. The Century M70AB2 builds they farmed out to smaller builders are supposed to be solid but I'd for sure take the Yugo receiver and barrel over US repros.

What is a good ranged optic for 7.62x39? Ive been looking around and I've seen good reviews of the Primary Arms 1-6x ACSS scope. At that price point though i am wondering if it wouldn't be just as good to get a surplus POSP 6x24. I would prefer the look of the POSP. Is there any significant advantages to the 1-6 ACSS over the POSP.

Do you understand how not special those rifles are? They're literally plain Jane SGLs that Arsenal, in Las Vegas, removed the fixed stock rear trunnion on and riveted a folding trunnion on. You could have done the same thing yourself with a fixed stock SGL and come out at least $1000 cheaper.

Not only that but all the folding hardware is civilian cuck shit. The trunnion is cucked, the 5.5mm pin is cucked, and the hinge is cucked.

Just get one, they're great rifles. The plastic triggers are fine, a little heavier pull than I'd like, but smooth as butter. Now, that being said. If that means the trigger pull is more like a vz2008 rifle which does have the steel trigger. DO NOT get it, because vz2008s have an even harder trigger pull which isn't a good thing.
I guess I'd maybe get a steel trigger for the hell of it if I hadn't already bought my gun a little over 6 years ago. And only if it was a cheap option, makes no real difference.

There is simply not a better AK available in the US except maybe arsenal but I wouldn't consider arsenal to be better just different. Arsenal has its own issues.

Yes it's tough to get the parts but it's worth the struggle. A properly done vepr is a serious fucking platform and will give even the beat rifles of any class a run for their money. Also you can beat the fuck out of it if SHTF and you need it in the field and it will basically keep going. An AR I cannot say the same for.
