V2
Same pattern, modified as I sewed
This time it's messier, but is more rigid. (Still floppy, I think Velcro will help though)
Sewed a pinch into the corners to give it some shape as well as making it from a heavier fabric, worked out ok.
Esstac inserts will be here tomorrow, Velcro and webbing will be in on Friday for a V3.

It looks like an ACH. Looks fine, it's not a wallhanger like a PASGT or steel pot. Not conspicuously expensive like a 0.6oz ballistic nanoweave helmet, but it protects your noggin and mounts NODs.

I'd get aftermarket straps like Ops-Cores, especially if you plan on putting NODs on top.

Israeli civilian filters, French NATO spec filters, and American C2A1 filters are good to go. Avoid the regular C2 as it contains chromium, which is worse for you than asbestos. Get a Czech full-body condom suit and waders for max NBC protection. Do not get an East German NBC suit. They are held together with a suspicious plum-colored glue that melted from my body heat and ended up congealing on my skin and leaving nasty purple-gray marks on my skin. >>34064435
Is say that kywi's would be too much for the inserts. It can sometimes be a pain to insert mags, and they are definitely not going anywhere. Another plus about the inserts is their versatility. I've my monocular in them and also my pistol, and those things were not going anywhere either.

With all that said, ive been wanting to get a ferro kydex insert to put in there. If you were just going to use it for ar mags, I think that would be the way to go.

Thanks for your input. I've been shying away from those flecktarn scarves because they usually don't have the real pattern, but I'll look into it more

With just a belt I'd imagine it would dig into my sides and be pretty uncomfortable with how tight i would want to cinch it so it doesnt rotate

You said color doesn't matter and you're ballin on a budget. For cheap, it's durably constructed and the UCP version especially can be found with tons of pouches. Dying it to a flat color isn't too much of a chore.

You can just buy a coyote colored one, but you won't get as many goodies with it- specifically the 3x mag pouches that can easily fit AK mags.

Or get a Type 81 ChiCom and stuff your aid into the admin pouches.

So I got back from a day of operating Inna swamp and my Quests were muddy as shit.

I left them for a day intending to clean them, but my dad in a stoned haze attempted to clean them for me without my knowledge.

He filled a sink full of hot water and let the boots sit, he then added fucking OxyClean powder and let them soak. He said that when he went to check on them that the water was black. (He thought it was dirt)

Noticed my boots were blacker then fucking usual and also looked wet even a day later. Touched them and now my fingers are black even after vigerous washing.

Fucker took the finish off my boots and it's now bleeding to whatever they touch.

What do?

Don't feel like telling my dad he ruined the finish on $300 boots.

Lvl IIIa is wallhanger now?
>>
>>34067041
There is literally no reason to get it over a MICH. The two-point suspension sucks and the cut in the back mean if you go prone there is a decent chance it will get pushed down over your eyes. You can upgraded the straps and suspension but at that point it's really like, why spend that cash instead of getting a MICH?
>>
>>34067071
Good points, but PASGTs are still viable on the cheap.

Personally I have a British Mk 6 helmet since I'm a Bong and they're like £50 here but it's a top heavy cunt.

Wearing one of those gives me a feeling of nodding off to sleep if I lean too far forward.
>>
On the Ukraine helmet, the steel wires and the ratchet knob in the back, are those for pulling the helmet towards the rear?
Also the bungie chords on the front, suggested use?
>>
>>34067282
The knob tightens the entire suspension system on your head. The bungie cords are to stabilize your NODs.
>>
>>34067274
Mk 6 or PASGT?
Well the issue is the same for both.

It's just an AVS without harness capabilities. Have you considered the LHT offerings?
>>
>>34068270

I tried the AVS, didn't like the amount of fabric that piled up underneath the cummerbund. You start with the harness, then the skeleton, then a side armor pouch if I needed it, then pouches on top. the jpc is just skeleton+addons. I prefer the least amount of fabric as possible, this is my 2nd JPC, I've owned 2 6094's, deployed with iotvs, mtvs, spcs, eagle ghetto rigs, and trained in an AVS, a first spear and other shit I dont remember the name of. Everything I've worn I've always wished I could just take shears to and remove every single piece of cordura that wasn't 100% essential. The jpc hits it on the head for me, although I'd prefer the bottom of the kangaroo flaps to secure to the bottom of the plate bag more securely, a it's annoying to have the whole thing flap up when going for a speed reload. Furthermore I'd like the quick release to be a one handed operation like my 6094 RS but until I can get handy with an industrial sewing machine... jpc 4 me, crye til i dy :3

The other idea is that you accept and understand shitposting without getting angry about it. If I were to shitpost in this thread that you couldn't dictate between good and bad gear because ur just a nat guard, would you get angry or would you recognize it's a shitpost? Take that and apply it to the platoon leader. I've known him for way longer than any of you and can shitpost like mad about the guy because I've known him for years and years. The meme separation between what you'll be able to make from the time you meet him to what I've known for years leaves you with no hope to compete. To me, he's not an outsider, but maybe he is to you which is why you're so defensive on his behalf. He owns up to his views and while I disagree and will make fun of them that's a hell of a lot more commendable than jumping to his defense as if he can't do that for himself.

You're priorities should be spare ammo, medical supplies, and water in that order. You can build an IFAK for under $50 if you do it right. Platypus water bladders are under $20 on amazon for a 3L one. I assume you have spare mags to go with the chicom.

Im considering exploring options into acquiring TRMR Distraction Devises. Ill probably aim for a carrier like this..

Just if you plan on wearing the bandoleer as a belt, obviously if you have an external belt set up its gonna be pretty annoying.

Its made by ALS so chances are slim, only official leo orders for agency use (not officer personal use) are approved by them. Wont even sell to dealers.

Im looking for two 40mm carrying setups, one bandoleer style and smaller for carrying 3-6 grenades.

Because it's not a real NIJ rating. A company that rates their stuff as (((+))) is trying to stretch the armor's capability, and it labels it while not having it officially rated as anything by the NIJ. I don't trust any in-house tests no matter how much they claim to be using NIJ spec.

2 vented chest seal pairs, 2 isreli bandages, nasal air thing with lubricant, decompression needle, sheers, 2 celox applicators and 2 cats. is this good or do should i replace the celox applicators with hemostatic bandages? i'd rather only carry life saving things and avoid the other things that add weight and bulk. i'd fit this into the smallest pack i could with a rip detach function from my plate carrier.

Not him but someone else. Do you have a pack list for a pack around that size? I'm looking for a pack in the 30L range for daily use and light 2 day use--so water, food, some ammo and magazines, and a compact shelter.

Sure here's a list of stuff to have, if you have any questions feel free to ask, bored at the airport at the moment.

No particular order but you'll need all of this.

>Water
Both a Way to Carry a lot of it and purify more.

>Navigation Aids
I print out accurate topological maps of where I go innawoods, it's not hard to find them online and get a PDF file to download. Always bring a compass and map.

>Heat Source
I recommend you bring both a Camp Stove and also firestarting materials. Cotton wads dipped in petroleum jelly work awesome, I'm also considering making some napalm and putting it in a well sealed container next time I go out.

>Proper Clothing
I usually go innawoods in FL and it's really fucking hot and wet. This is going to depend on your area but certainly don't wear clothes that don't make sense for where you're going. Longsleeve>Short-sleeve, always bring extra socks. You really don't need a change of clothes, just bring extra underwear to avoid sanitation issues.

>Sleeping Setup

This is entirely subjective but make sure you can pack your desired sleeping setup with all your other gear. I personally use a hammock, tarp, and a sleeping bag. If you're in a dry area you could probably lose the hammoc.

>Rainproof your shit
Self Explanatory, make sure you and your gear isn't going to get soaked, and if it does, that you can dry it out fast. This means don't wear jeans, they never fucking dry.

>Some Basic Meds
Disinfectants and Bandaids are important, as is lifesaving stuff if you're going innawoods where people are trying to kill you.

>Food
You actually don't need as much food as you think, porker. Bring high calorie, high nutrition foods that don't take up a lot of space. Dried food pairs well with a camp stove. I bring Nutella and beef jerky.

That's most of the vitally important stuff.
>>
>>34079838
Here's some miscellaneous gear you'll want to have

>Light Source and Plenty of Batteries
>Bug Spray, I use straight up DEET
>Paracord, usually you can make a nice shelter with just paracord and a tarp.
>A blade, both for using to cut things and chop wood. In FL I use my EDC knife and a Machete.

What are you comfortable with shelter wise? I know some people that will not go out unless they have a tent, which complicates things quite a bit.
