Well, I have laminate/triangle plum for the 104UR already.
And I have zenit all over my SGL31.

thanks anon

Is that zenit stuff really that expensive?
That's a lot of cash just to make your gun look space age and add rails. It's better looking than tapco I guess, but that's about all I'll say about it. It better be damn good at mall ninja AR-ing out your AK. Like 1,000,000% flawless and tight fitting with significant weight reduction on top of that.
I could never justify that vs 2200-3500rds of steelcase depending on whether I'm shooting 762//556/545 or 308.
That's a lot of fun blown just for a stock set.

So I ordered one of these cheap RS Regulate copies off of Amazon out of curiosity, took a little bit of effort to get it fitted but it now locks up tight. Gonna take it out to the desert in a few days and see it it holds up to recoil.
>>
>>34010617
I think I could put a foreward grip and modern optic on my ak for a metric shit ton less... and it'd serve it's purpose just as well and probably look equal or better on top of that.
I guess I just don't see what all the hubbub is about on zenit furniture. I don't see anything special about it. All I see is a bunch of future regret when you realize how little difference it makes and how much you spent.
What actually makes it better than alternatives? just answer that for me. "It's good shit" etc doesn't really make me think it's worth more money. Everybody else milling their stuff out of metal doesn't seem to think their stuff is worth it's weight in gold.
What does it actually do BETTER than the competition?
>>
>>34010675
It really doesn't do anything better anon its just cool and sorta hard to get, some Anons just have more disposable income to blow and like to have authentic Russian gear on there AK.

For one it doesn't use specials mounts or clamps, which automatically BTFOs a lot of US stuff already, since most of the shit here has multiple extra barrel clamps which affect accuracy. Made out of quality aluminum and anodized (for now), which BTFOs the polymer stuff. They also offer some things that stack on top of each other that has no alternative in the US
>b33
>b19
>b12
>b9
The PT-1 is also unique in that it'll lock folded even if you have an optic in the way. Also compared piece for piece none of it is really that expensive compared to US parts, other than the stocks. The cost comes from getting a full rifle's worth of it really

Just got a PGO to put on my 104. It's a bit rustier than the pictured showed because of dim lighting, but I guess it works for 150$

Should it be extremely tight on the rail? I had to gently tap it on with a mallot. I see that there is no tightening mechanism like SVD style mounts and it's a nub that goes into the middle, but it feels odd to have to hammer a part on. Just worried about deforming or cracking the rail.

Also where do i get batteries, or a modern alternative to shove in there with some washers like PSO-1s?

Fuck the battery cap, it takes gorilla strength to remove.
>>
>>34010981
My PSO is a little tight because I purposefully keep it that way, you try putting the muzzle on the ground and pushing it? Never had any experience with the PGO so dunno exactly how it mounts. If they use the same batteries as PSOs then you can order those online easy
>>

They've occasionally popped up on GB and AKfiles. Usually go for 115-150$(kinda sucks that the head brace on mine is pitted to hell and back for that price). Russian ones on Ebay and GB go for about 200 or more. The eye relief is nonexistant, so you have to awkwardly push your head up much further than normal, but hey, cheapest optic that isn't chinese shit you can get.

I'll get you a picture or two soon, but the sun's already down so my camera won't have any sort of quality.

Where do you guys buy 5.45 mags from? Any consistently cheap places?
>>
>>34013336
AK Files is the primary source. Legion USA is pretty reliable too if you've got $250 to throw at plum mags all at once.

Some anons used to order from Russia directly but the FSB has been intercepting shipments so that's coming to a halt.
>>
>>34010328
If I wanted to buy a budget AR for the first time I could get a new production model such as the Smith & Wesson M&P Sport II or the Ruger AR-556 for under $800.

But I don't want an AR. I want an AK (for a number of reasons). What (if any) are the comparable budget AKs that are new production models?

The pastebin seems to reference a bunch of rifles made from kits, and I can only seem to find used AKs. Am I missing something? I just want a new rifle out of the box that works well for a low price made by a modern, reliable manufacturer. The AR market has those. Does the AK market?

Romy top loaders and rear loaders are the same price; $90 new, what get?

Rear loader
>can be left loaded, just needs winding before use
>faster to load because you don't need to force the rounds in

Top loader
>Probably more internally simple because it doesn't have a winding mechanism
>Maybe rattles less?

>>34010328
How do people cut down bakes? I don't understand how they have a way to affix the floorplate if you're cutting off the portion at the bottom that flares out. Also 10 round bakes are a sin, fuck Calicucks, just have them pinned so they aren't ruined.

>>
>>34013931
The problem is RWC is retarded and welded the bullet guide into place instead of riveting it into place, so it'll be a bit more of a pain in the ass to take out. In the future I will probably devote some time to removing it and putting the right one in, but for now, Circle 10 mags should work just fine without any modification.

Yeah, they're just cheapo commercial mag. They'll work fine though. They're not "more accurate by any means though since what you shared is supposed to be cut up bakes. If you want accuracy, just get an SLR-104FR, a kypher customs cheesegrater, an old beat up mosin stock, and the mags and get to work. Don't bother with trying to build 100% accurately since you'd be making an AK-74M clone and that can get expensive.

More accurate to color, I mean. I don't particularly care if it's actually what was used, just that it looks close. Metro bakes aren't bright orange because the metro is dirty, so brown is just as fine. I might add some color if it's not to my satisfaction.

>>34018796
Don't settle for a cuck caliber just because you think you're going to be scavenging ammo in a post apocalypse scenario. If you happen across a cache of 5.56 ammo why would there not also be a 5.56 gun lying somewhere around? In fact if it comes down to the point we're scavenging ammo there will be more guns that shoot 5.56 than 5.56. Just think how many basic ARfags there are, that's a lot of guns.

Seriously though 20 caliber rounds suck. At least get a .308 if you want to stick to NATO rounds. Literally nothing is wrong with 7.62x39 in terms of intermediate calibers, and you should be stocking ammo not depending on scavenging.

You insulted him.
>>
>>34020008
Wow he must be retarded

>>34020025
It should be the opposite because I thought so highly of him that perhaps I overestimated his skill, so a compliment

Izhmash 45 round bake. I need to change my pants
>>

Inrange is one of the older AK building shops, the builder was working for DDI but is now doing private work again since DDI fired everybody, I don't think there is any relation to Ian and Carl

>>34020536
Yeah they exist

just..
>>
>>34020642
Thats a good deal.
>>
>>34020626
That makes a shitton more sense. Was gonna say I really don't trust Ian or Karl around any gun that isn't some 1 of 12 bolt action desu. They really need to stick to video wikipedia for old shit rather than some of their new stuff

Yeah, I'm not sure why they had to be asses to the people at the booths just doing there job.
>>
>>34020770
I wanna think they're trying to appeal wider but they just don't know shit about new production stuff I feel like. Which is fine but they present their uninformed opinions as fact

It should have the stepped trigger. Yours would be the middle shorter bolt.
It should work with the tapco trigger but you might get light primer strikes, so ive read.

There is a mini for ~$830 which is reasonable for today inflated prices but $1300 for a micro is a bit daft.
>>
>>34020941
Ok, understood. The gun has Magpul MOE furniture on it, and comes with 4 magazines. What would you value it at?

The guy is wanting to trade me for a west german P220.

Am I getting hosed?
>>
>>34021150
Thats a decent trade. Does he have the original triggeer group and bipod?
>>
>>34021167
Original trigger group is included.

No bipod.

Will this gun last as long as a standard mak?
>>
>>34019484

Were it so fucking easy...
>>
>>34021377
Yeah imo at least. They are quality norinco rifles.
