I took off plenty barrel that wasnt greased.
my old dpms ap4 carbine was one of them the barrel nut was so rusted.
my colt m16a2 upper came with plenty rust residue so they either didnt grease it or it was degrease ages ago and allowed to rust.
i think i might still have that dpms barrel nut in part bin maybe.

>>33617142
it's not terrible, I have literally the same rail and I like the look. but the panels on the side are fucking gay and you have no optic. You also have a magpul afg on a pic rail to m-lok mount when I'm pretty sure they make a straight m-lok mount version, so I had to type like 30 extra words to describe why it's fucking mediocre.
>>33617152
it is good, I'm in the process of getting my 13.2 installed
>>33617063
>>33617158

>>33617166
Yeah once it comes in im gonna take it to the smith to assemble the upper. I have an 80% lower, but i need to mill out more material. Trigger wont go in.
>>33617160
>but the panels on the side are fucking gay
I've fucked around with those things so often and every fucking time I arrive at the same conclusion. They work for me, whether you like them or not. I have fuckhuge mitts that you do not have, and they help.
>No optic
Wrong
>Buy another thing when you already have the same thing
Why the fuck would I get a different version of a thing I already have that already works?
2/10 for no grasp on reality. See me after class.
>>33617188
I hear ya. I'm not trying to sell you on anything, just saying what's worked for me. Honestly the straight handstop/barrier stop thing magpul has going was my second favorite set up. It just doesn't work well with me cause of wrist dexterity I guess. I could get good stability but it fuckin twisted up my forearm.
>>33617197
Ok you have an optic, not much of one but at least it's there
The rail panels are still gay as fuck, they may work for you, but that doesn't make them gay. You may have owned that shitty afg before but once again it doesn't make you gay for buying the rail panel to attach it.
So the optic made my opinion of you increase slightly, but your rabid support of your afg is shameful.
>>33617206
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you want some Hex shit I'll trade you that if you're not using the hand stop tho, dunno how attached to it you are

Overtightening
Guys, what do you think?
cant decide what muzzle device to go with for my fal.
not even sure i want to chop the barrel.
>>33617493
not that MD, I know that much
shortening the barrel would be a lot of work
>>33617500
why not kx3?
I originally think i might go with be meyer 240f but if i chop the barrel i would want to try use booster instead of enlarging gas port.
i have original long slotted enfield DE marked flash hider but it's opening is too small and would reduce the precision of my fal cause bullet will strike it sometime especially heavier one.
>>33617547
with that logic it makes a bit more sense, I was mostly thinking aesthetically
oh and the "bullets may strike the flash hider" things is probably something you should look into
Mods are asleep, post ARs
>one day
>>33617579
ah i see aesthetically it look ok-pleasant to me.
I already did years ago and that how i found that out.
it make sense, see, the fh is ridiculously long, bullet often does corkscrew with its ass end when leaving muzzle before it fully stabilize mid air as it travel. the opening is small enough that it can be striked with corkscrewing yawing bullet. and that doesnt even include barrel whip.
pic related mock up with be meyer 240f. look betty gud!
I dont want a brake and flash hiding is most desirable feature i'm after but i'm willing to forgo that for reliability.
not too worry about flash cause anything i'm shooting at with my fal if ever will be REKT'd before they even get chance to return fire.
>>33617639
But not today
>>33617639
what's wrong? why it isnt happening anytime soon?

Hello again germanbro.
It's isnt breeze easy for american to tell you that it is worth it for guns over there in Germany. Cause of all laws in Germany the gun price are affected and they are all overpriced to a degree. They are even overpriced here in US.
Post the exact model and copy paste full spec of it. I will tell you if I'm satisfied and would trust my life to it or not. Or just what i recommend you to replace.
Be sure to try get the model with 1/7 twist barrel not 1/9 unless you are fine with being unable to shoot anything heavier than 69gr. I took a peek at their website here seem most of the rifle are in 1/9 and one's in 1/7 are grossly overpriced plus having less than optimum or acceptable to me, midwest handguard not sure if they are offering different or better model over there.
windham weaponry are pretty much the old bushmaster.
If i were in your position I would have to grossly overpay for one that's everything i wanted or overpay a little for base model and swap barrel, handguard, and other parts for desired parts.
>>33617729

with kmr, you have to baby it. you could buy it then swap handguard and sell kmr shit at loss.

That would be the one.
>>33617780
I love my 226 Legion, and I really want the 220 Legion. However minus the lack of night sights the Sphinx SDP is a "better" pistol. Smoother trigger both single and double action, noticeably superior accuracy, doesn't feel as great as the Legion in the hand but that's my hand. But the Legion looks so much better.
>>33617850
I get that. But I agree, the legion looks best and that's what I'm buying it for.
If I want a pistol with a good trigger I'm gonna shoot my Dan Wesson.
>>33617828
aha i see... It have railed gas block, not desirable at all. I cant see spec listed. Did you just got off phone with them or something?
I think i have good patch on solution to flaw of midwest ss handguard used in windham weaponry "Way of the Gun Performance Carbine" Model: R16MLSFS3G-7
to prevent the handguard from getting pulled off.
its a bolt on continuous top rail commonly seen used on precision ar15 when it's even seen. i cant find it i'm looking for it, one moment.
>>33617873
I think you'll like the trigger, it's pretty nice compared to a lot of other pistols. I like Sig double action triggers in general, and the Legion feels really good in the hand too when helps the pull. The way they cut the trigger guard and the grips, it just feels so nice to hold.
>>33617698

Hmm, only completed half my thought.
In the pic are 2 of the nicest triggers I've ever felt. The 1897 is ridiculously nice, like a high end bolt rifle trigger. The model 29 has I swear a 1lb single action that breaks like glass and less than 4lb smooth double action. It will absolutely spoil your finger, and Ian's video will tell you the same thing.

Greenie is a sex machine. LMT needs to make an OD sopmod stock. That would be much more my speed out here in the nw
>>33617166
>>33616806
>>33617956
That's the only reason it doesn't have a Sopmod stock on it. I could have painted one, but I didn't feel like it and i really like the STR/Acog setup. And I'm toying with the idea of getting a 14.5 barrel but instead of putting it on Darkie, putting it on Greenie instead. .

eh... it need to be rewrite and expanded upon.
should be something like this
> Here laid elusive creature peering out of water as it check for predator against cover of large river stone with it's strange red striped uni eye, this creature called Armalite Rifle-15 a evolved species from it's similar looking yet very different predecessor found in fossil and named Armalite.
> AR-15 is rarely seen by mankind in wild let alone photographed.
> It's has returned to it's birthplace after traveling hundreds after hundreds of miles upstream only to spawn tens of eggs as it was once spawned, the eggs is stored in it's recognizable usual feature when pregnant, a swelled curved rectangular prism solid sack full of metallic brass colored ob-longed eggs.
> It will seek hard surface to eject it's sack against to break the hard sack so eggs can flow out.
> AR-15 will often spent days searching for just right rock for it know it only have one shot at this because it will die soon after it eject the sack.
> the brass-colored oblong eggs will then flow out and find nooks and crannies to fall in at bottom of the water before progressing it's growth stages.
> There's unconfirmed reports of new species that lay grey-green colored eggs of same shape.

>only 10 buck for each colt 20 rounder mag
hell yeah! you probably can easily and quickly flip it for $12 buck each mag.
they must are new in bag condition.
I wouldnt buy them cause i dont like those with riveted sheet at front interior of mag. the rivet pop easily and when the sheet is removed the follower will be allowed too much front and back room and wont lock back bcg with 100% reliability cause follower would sometime be too forward and barely or fail to push the bolt catch up. This's from 1st hand experience. the reliability of lock back go to about 50/50 after front plate is removed and before mod.
Until you mod the follower by gluing thin piece of hard plastic on both of front skid points then it's 100% good again.
I prefer true older style 20 rounder from [redacted] that have front just like 30rounder
you would be just fine with those but do baby it.
if you happen to have rivet pop and you removed the sheet strip just contact me. I to tell you step by step how to properly mod it.

They arent problematic at all until top rivet at front holding thin sheet strip of aluminum pop and the strip flop loose it still function 100% at this point but it bother my inner autism so I pop last two rivets and removed the strip. this result in new problem due to follower was made short in account of the strip which isnt there, therefore allow too much play for the follower causing follow to go forward yet level and it's tail that bump the finger of the bolt catch would miss the finger.
as long you dont remove the strip and follower limited in small zone where it would 100% deploy bolt catch, you should be fine. the rivet wont pop if you baby it. mine rivet popped after like 10th loading and i didnt baby it nor i beat it to shit.
they are good, but i'm just picky.
20 rounder pmag are worry free but they are substantially less aesthetic especially newer curved one.
it's your decision
>>33618634
if you baby them, they will last forever.
the springs from OKAY ind. (they make the mag for colt)
are very well made and last long.
oh and forget to answer your question about how i know they are new. they didnt say its used or anything so by default it's new. You dont see "NEW" on every single products especially if it's from a company that isn't known to sell sued shit like APEX for example. If it's used they basically have to say so such as "used" or alternative terms.
>>33618646
Do you plan to use your rifle for defensive use? Do you plan to maybe do tactical training with it?
6x 30rounder
then order 2x 20 rounder for bench plinking or group printing.
if you mostly like to bench shooting at distant targets at range 6x 20 rounder full stop.
Turns out being confused with anon is more pain than can be tolerated. God fucking damn anon, it's like you get younger and stupider with every passing day.
>>33618678
>I'm leaning towards the 20 because I have a feeling they will be harder to find as time goes on and worth more.
Eh not really they will always be around and made.
>>33618683
i know right! And anon have gall to say tripfags are worse!
Through history of 4chan anon have been responsible for most stupid thing said and done by far. Even if we have 100x genuine hunter 2-1 posting 24/7 for year anon would still be unbeaten in volume of posts of stupidity.
I enjoy the fine taste of urine.
>>33618712
Colt never manufacture mags. They all are made by OKAY ind.
they arent made 24/7 just in batches few times in years as needed. they arent as high demand as 30rounders.
those magazines are most likely not made in this year or last. well maybe last year. but i would bet that they are made in 2015.
the low price suggest that they are trying to offload those magazines cause they arent selling as fast they thought.
good riddance! prices on those 20 rounder were ridiculous they were going for $15-20 each.
fuck that!

Hey sometime when I'm stumped by logical weighting in decision making come out equal or negligible different. I do this little trick to find what i truly want. I found this trick by accident when younger.
assign each decision to each side of quarter.
BUT WAIT now be prepare to pay close attention to how you feel as you see the result.
flip the coin and behold
if you feel disappointed/antsy when you realize the result, the opposite decision is what you truly want. if you get short burst of excitement and no unsettling feeling or nil amount this is the decision you truly want to make.
(from sound of you, i think you would rather 6x 20 rounder)
>>33616476
no
>>33618683
Feel better now that everyone can recognize you for the special and unique snowflake you really are?
What's a realistic price to even expect for this build? I have $1800 in it give or take, but I know the AR market is in the shitter so what should I ask?
Just got general inquiries from a pawn shop I go to pretty often and they said they'd probably put it on the shelf at $1100-$1200.
>>33618374
is this going to be secure though? that stud looks so small, does it really hold a bipod off a rail adapter like that? is it sturdy or kind of chinky?
>>33618789
What's BCG?
> nickel boron trigger and anti-rotate kit

It also largely depend on your location. gimme region in state or at least the state.
But I think it will sell for $1000 without much wait inside a month. higher you go the more you wait. this change a lot if you are in bigger city, you can ask for more.
it will do you good if you list full spec when selling.
go ahead and list it for us like you should have in first post silly boy! it's em rules!
>>33618792
sturdy like fuck when you tighten down the pincher on harris mount, you can tighten it so tight.
look at the harris pincher the nub that go in the hole of stud, it is sizeable nub.
But going atlas's much nicer even altas's chink knockoff's nice. I forget which one but i think the one made by company called greenblob or something on ebay. There's different between chink knockoff, some's head and shoulder better than other. or just pony up and hunt for used atlas.
if you go harris be sure to go with one that have swivel and lever to quickly adjust the swivel tension.

Most of the picatinny adapters are shitty, but will work. It's not the sling stud that's the problem, it's the mounting hardware. Almost universally the shelfmod and mlok ones are going to be better.
Or just get an Atlas bipod that's designed to mount to a rail from the factory

What kind of barrel profile do I need if I want to shoot sub 3/4th MOA @ 100 for at least 30 shots?
>>33618906
idiot dan at it again
>>33618841
yeah... it would help if you show 5shot group that you were able to shoot at 100yds with that barrel and call it "heavy match barrel"
but wew lad that ar is full of parts that's just wasteful like you only brought them as attempt to stand out.
shaking my head.
however I think you can ask for 1,200 obo and mention how much it cost you and haggle them up to $1000 by going "oh man i'm sorry but 1000 is lowest i can go, can you manage that?" after you ask them if they can do swing more than that, more like 1,100? I have great luck when i play them as if i'm on high white horse bending down trying to work with them and playing on their pride when i "assume" they can "swing" more than they offer.
you would get much more if you accept divided payment in 2 or 3 but that's risky and you need some collateral far more valuable than the amount you are owed. but thats last ditch option involve risks and headache.
or just ask for amount you want firm then drop price by hundred every week or two
>>33618914
that's high requirement. you wont get that from any barrel rapid firing.
obviously pencil dick barrel would never be able to do that save for firing a shot every two minute or something.
You want 18" bull barrel, 416R 5r twist, from TRUE MATCH BARREL MAKER bonus point if barrel's cryogenics treated.
>>33618914
oh wait i forget about that one special barrel
its barrel with sleeve full of special secret material which dissipate heat. first 5 shot would be shitty but after that you can shoot like 100rounds less than inch.

My understanding is that tight fitment between the slide and frame is of dubious benefit at best and mechanical masturbation at worst. But given that the FBI uses the Professional and they're tight as fuck, I thought maybe this one would be fairly tight. Not so. Curious how it compares to civilian M45s. Also, there's thousands of pages of legalese detailing contract resolution drafts for Colt, some of which pertain to these pistols. There may be a clause in there on how and why these were sold to the public.
