I have a 1978 makarov holster.

I know the year, it's a Russian one, and everything matches up to point to it being real.
But.
I want to know the factory.
The roll mark is really Nice and crisp.
It says "TVD тepёхин B.C"
The TVD is above the other part, centered, and flanked by what appear to be two = signs.
Anyone know what this might be, or at least have a database to throw me at?

Fuck's sake, the AK market is not going to be obliterated because of Syria. Even if we went to war with the Russians, do you know how many different countries make AKs, sell AK accessories, or produce 7.62x39 ammo?

The only major things at risk if Russia gets hit with another bunch of sanctions:
-VEPRs
-Zenitco accessories
-Barnaul ammo (Golden/Silver/Brown Bear) and Golden Tiger
-all 5.45 ammo

All of those things suck but only the total death of 5.45 will really hurt the US AK market in a major way. Even then if you don't own a 5.45 rifle you're in the clear, and if you do, it's only a matter of time until Prvi Partisan starts exporting brass-cased 5.45 (it will be much more expensive but it'll be there). Russian surplus mags miiiight be hit but most of those are currently coming from private sellers and not major corporations.

AKs and AK parts kits will still flow into the country from Bulgaria (Arsenal), Romania (Cugir WASRs and Dracos), Serbia (NPAP), and Poland. 7.62 ammo will still be churned out by the Ukrainians and many others. Mags will come from everywhere except China, as they currently do.

More importantly, we're not starting WWIII (yet), and if we do, your access to an AK will probably be the least of your worries. Chill the fuck out.

As for you, buy a WASR because you're clearly retarded and the WASR is so simple and easily obtained that even retards can do it.

Prvi can, but right now it's a special order item. They don't because they don't see any market for it. If Barnaul, Tula, and Vympel go away, suddenly there's a market for it, and then they will.

How far off is a saiga from an ak104/105?
As in what would need to be done to a sporter to make an autistically accurate clone, sans the giggle switch.

I assume fs/gb (channel drilled for gas port), handguard retainer, rear sight, proper markings engraved, retainer plate, proper 5/5mm trunnion, bullet guide, and of course welding up old holes.

Am I missing anything else? Or would the the RSB, and dust cover need to be replaced as well?

And the gas tube, and the trigger guard/mag catch as part of the normal conversion process, which I'm sure you know. Also, the safety. The Saiga safety has a detent in a different location so that it functions by hanging off the receiver. It's not designed to catch on a traditional selector notch. You can modify the safety it comes with and "move" the nub or replace the safety. The only other thing I could think of is that it's possible that the RSB has a slightly different gradient to account for the shorter barrel. I know 7.62 and 5.45 RSBs have different gradients, but I don't know if there is a difference between a 103 and a 104 RSB, for example. If there is a difference, it would be very very small.

If you do get it you're gonna have to tolerate a desert light tho, they stopped making this version of the Zenitka-2 in favor of a newer one, so also make sure you get the newer set of rings with no inner circle

I don't want to say too much because I could get in trouble but we only make two parts for them that I know of. They're non-essential to the safe operation of the gun so it's nothing that will fuck the headspace or anything, it's just poor engineering. Basically it's a dovetailed piece, and we do both mating parts. But the parts were dimensioned size on size with a standard tolerance which meant you could have a theoretical interference of ten fucking thousandths on the entire thing.
